This community is important to many of us... we count on this opportunity to come together to share our trials... our woes... our joys... and each other's company and fellowship.
Welcome to Brothers and Sisters, the weekly meetup for prayer* and community at Daily Kos. We put an asterisk on pray* to acknowledge that not everyone uses conventional religious language, but may want to share joys and concerns, or simply take solace in a meditative atmosphere. Anyone who comes in the spirit of mutual respect, warmth and healing is welcome.
We are a community involving people from all over the world with many different religious and political inclinations... and yet this place works for us. There is just something special about being here... even if it is electronically. We really are PRESENT for one another... and that's what makes it work. We want to be here for each other each Sunday evening... we share and we listen.
I would like to challenge you to be brave-- host a Brothers and Sisters diary. We are not looking for high church theology (although many of us can definitely do that and others love to learn!)... we are looking for diaries that get at what it means to be part of this thing we do here at Brothers and Sisters.
Peace,
Dee
