As you can tell by the headline I have not been a big Rachel Maddow fan, ( until last night that is). Personally I find her smarmy, cutesy delivery just too much for me to watch. Her efforts at comedy fall flat ( better left to the likes of Jon Stewart or Steven Colbert).
I always DVR the "Last Word" which for some reason always records the tail-end of the Maddow show right before it . Last night's tail-end surprised the heck out of me and made me a Maddow fan right on the spot....More after the squiggly..
Maddow's last segment was on the very weird, strange story of the FBI shooting death Of Ibragim Todashev while he was being questioned by FBI agents in in his own home!!
I was shocked to see the story on mainstream media, because it went against the grain of what is being covered now i.e. tea party, shutdown, demise of Republican party etc, etc. I mean this was totally out of the blue! It really has been a story pretty much ignored by the mainstream media.
On May 22 Ibragim Todashev was being questioned by FBI agents in the kitchen of his own home.
He supposedly knew the dead Boston Marathon suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev and supposedly was confessing to a triple murder that he and Tsarnaev had committed in Boston in 2011 in a drug deal gone wrong.
As Maddow chronicled in her story last night ( sorry no link), nothing about the FBI's account makes any sense. They first said that Todashev came at them with a knife during the interview. Later, an unnamed source said it wasn't a knife, but some kind of pole. Then still later another anonymous source said Todashev was unarmed.
The whole thing stinks to high heaven!! I think there are a lot of strange goings on associated with the Boston Marathon bombing, but I will leave it there ( I know this site jumps on anyone suggesting govt. involvement in terrorism plots).
The main purpose of this short diary was just to give a shout-out to Rachel Maddow for having the guts to cover a story that no one is really talking about (especially now).
Rachel, you now have a new fan. I am going to look past the smarmy delivery and focus on the content because that content is definitely different than anyone else on Television!
