Last Sunday, October 20th we had a nice gathering of Kossacks from the Philly/NJ/NYC region. We "enjoyed a boli and a beer" at Stuff Yer Face, a really cool place in New Brunswick, NJ (home city to my alma mater, Rutgers University).
It was great to see familiar faces as well as meet some new people. Here are a bunch of photos of ourselves and our food!
Thank you to the amazing joanbrooker and belinda ridgewood for these photos. I have included some of them in the diary.
Here we have kathny, designthefuture, MRA NY, and ericlewis0. They were chatting and smiling while waiting for their orders to arrive!
The wonderful blue jersey mom and belinda ridgewood giving the camera a smile!

Here is mconvente (that's me!), my identical twin brother mattc129, and zapper of all troolz himself, aoeu! I was wearing my brand new orange sweater - Kossack colors for the win!
Here is sidnora, the organizer of the NYC Kossack meet ups!
Finally, some food photos! This is a half-size pepperoni 'boli (short for stromboli). This is Stuff Yer Face's famous item.
And here is my huge size pepperoni boli for comparison. I was hungry, as you can see!
Here's a pulled pork sandwich.
A very large stuffed pretzel, plus some excellent beer in the periphery.
That would be me (mconvente) in orange, and my twin brother mattc129 rockin' his sweet fedora. Also, apparently mattc129 is joanbrooker's new son-in-law (so they say...) This is news to me, since I don't make it to the NYC meetups as frequently as my brother does. I'm just happy to be a part of the family now. ;)
Keeping it mysterious with ericlewis0, rubyr, MRA NY, and thankgodforairamerica!
The wonderful hayden and thankgodforairamerica!
The crew made it outside to catch some fresh air before departing.
I had a great time at this event! Hopefully we can do another mega meetup next year, and hopefully some more Philly people show up - it was heavy on the NYC and NJ side, but that's ok with me. I was happy to get the ball rolling for a mega meetup, with help from many others - it was nice to bridge together separate meetup groups together for an afternoon.
See you all next time!
