Giving up on trying to win over moderates, females and minority voters, Ken Cuccinelli (R. VA) is stuck trying to get fringe base out to the polls on November 5th. And another GOP clown is coming back to Virginia to help Cuccinelli win back a section of his base:

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) will campaign in Fairfax Monday for Republican gubernatorial candidate and Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, in a "Get Out the Vote Rally."
The rally will take place at The Waterford, 12025 Lee Jackson Memorial Hwy. in the Fair Lakes area of Fairfax. The event had previously been scheduled at the firehouse on University Drive in Fairfax City near George Mason University, but rumor has it attendance is expected to be quite high, and the event was moved to the Waterford to be able to accommodate more attendees.
On Tuesday, Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana will campaign with Cuccinelli in a rally in Bristow.- Vienna Patch, 10/27/13
Looks like Rand and Jindal are going to be the big GOP closing acts for Cuccinelli's campaign:

Paul's scheduled Oct. 28 visit was announced Wednesday, days after his father, former presidential candidate and Texas congressman Ron Paul, endorsed Cuccinelli last week.
It follows Virginia visits this week by several high-profile Republican surrogates -- South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, and reality television star Jim Bob Duggar -- on behalf of the attorney general seeking promotion to the state's top job. - Virginia-Pilot, 10/16/13
Why is Paul returning to Virginia? So he can beg Libertarians to get behind the Cooch:
http://www.staffordcountysun.com/...
Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., on Thursday urged Virginia Republicans supporting Robert C. Sarvis, the Libertarian candidate for governor, to come home to the GOP and vote for Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, the party’s nominee.
“I consider myself to be a libertarian conservative, a libertarian Republican,” Paul said in a phone interview Thursday. “A lot of things (Cuccinelli) talks about are free-market, limited-government, leave-me-alone government. I think there is a lot to like there.
“What I’m excited about in Ken Cuccinelli is that he is smart, he is articulate, and he has a keen sense of justice,” Paul said. Cuccinelli’s attempt to challenge the Affordable Care Act in court was “one of the things that catapulted a nationwide debate over the constitutionality of the health care law,” he said.
Paul, a potential Republican presidential contender for 2016, will campaign with Cuccinelli in Fairfax County and Virginia Beach next week. His visit to the state comes as the attorney general faces headwinds from members of his own party who have defected to Sarvis.
In a recent Quinnipiac University poll, Cuccinelli had the support of 81 percent of Republicans, but 11 percent back Sarvis — votes that Cuccinelli likely will need Nov. 5 as he trails Democrat Terry McAuliffe in several polls. - Stanfford County Sun, 10/25/13
We'll see how much help Rand Paul will be in convincing Libertarians to vote Republican. Meanwhile, Terry McAuliffe's (D. VA) been out on the campaign trail with his own special guest:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/...
Terry McAuliffe and Bill Clinton launched a four-day swing through Virginia on Sunday to try to persuade Democrats to show up on Election Day, something the party faithful haven’t always done in the commonwealth’s off-year contests.
Boosting turnout to put McAuliffe in the governor’s mansion is only part of the agenda for the longtime friends and political allies. The other is to hold up Clinton’s presidency, particularly his focus on creating jobs and reaching across the aisle, as a model for what McAuliffe hopes to accomplish as governor. That approach, both argued, is the opposite of what voters should expect from Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli II (R) if he wins Nov. 5.
“You have two amazingly interesting and wildly different people running,” Clinton told a packed Veterans of Foreign Wars hall in Dale City, along Interstate 95 in Prince William County.
Although he said he was “preaching to the choir,” Clinton emphasized that he could serve as a character witness for McAuliffe, who has danced with controversy throughout his decades in politics.
“I know what a good man he is. . . . And I could literally keep you here until tomorrow morning just telling you things that I know about him that make my blood boil when I read these sort of cartoon characterizations of him,” Clinton said. - Washington Post, 10/27/13
Clinton has been emphasizing how important it is for our base to come out and vote on November 5th:
http://www.cbsnews.com/...
"Political extremism does have one political virtue," Clinton said. "Once you get people all torn up and upset, steam coming out of their ears, people will show up and vote."
It was a shift in roles. For decades, it has been McAuliffe championing the personal and political futures of Bill Clinton and, later, his wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton. Now, he's here to pitch in during the campaign against Republican Ken Cuccinelli during its final week even though Clinton joked he is "in my dotage."
"Terry's gotten so good on the stump, I don't think he needs me anymore," Clinton said to laughter at the pair's first stop.
He predicted that Cuccinelli's supporters, who are deeply conservative and align to the tea party, would be reliable, and he urged Democrats to be just as motivated.
"Just remember, the people who aren't here today, who go to the other fella's rally, they will be there on Election Day," he said. "I've dealt with it all my life."
He attributed to deep division between the two parties to the different electorates that show up in presidential years versus non-presidential years. "Will you care as much as they do and show up and vote?" he said. "In the non-presidential years, a whole different America shows up than in the presidential years." - CBS News, 10/27/13
Clinton also had this to add:
http://www.rawstory.com/...
“A big reason for the incredible political division in this country is that in the non-presidential years, a whole different America shows up than in the presidential years,” Clinton said. “Debate is good. We should all have our philosophies and our general outlook, but if we become ideological, then we’re blind to evidence. We can only hear people who already agree with us. … You can choose that course here. But I was governor for 12 years and president for eight years and I can tell you that is doesn’t work." - Raw Story, 10/27/13
It is very important that our base gets out and vote especially since right-wing Super PACs refuse to give up on this race:
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/...
A Texas-based conservative Super PAC will run a television ad taking aim at Virginia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe during Game 5 of the World Series on Monday evening.
The 30-second spot, produced by the Super PAC "Fight For Tomorrow," tells viewers that the Virginia governor's race is a "referendum on Obamacare."
"Terry McAuliffe is Obamacare’s biggest backer," a gravelly-voiced narrator says in the ad. "Defeat Terry McAuliffe and elect Ken Cuccinelli who told the truth about Obamacare from the start." - CNN, 10/28/13
