Soon I think we will see more and more of this bubbling up from the fetid pool of right wing hate. I was reading an article about how McAuliffe was going to beat Cuccinelli in what appears to be a landslide when I ran into this:
They were, generally, well-versed in talk radio and aware that a McAuliffe win would boost the people he spent his life working for—the Clintons. “Hillary Clinton? I hate her,” said April Hudson, a libertarian-minded Cuccinelli supporter. “I think she’s a murderer. I think she should be in jail. She disgusts me. Everything she did in Benghazi, it disgusts me. She should be disqualified from running for president.”
Slate: The Final Days of Ken Cuccinelli
Hmmm. A "murderer." Unfortunately, the person making this vicious attack did not explain why Hillary was a "murderer." She assumed it was self evident. But for those of us in the reality-based world, we must ask? What the f--k is she talking about? Was it recycling Vince Foster from the 90s, or did this person really believe that Hillary Clinton attacked the consular office in Benghazi to kill Americans? Soon, no doubt, they will claim she was not born in the United States, because Chicago.
Of course, we know that evidence or logic has nothing to do with this. FoxNews and Rush tell them who to hate and they hate. The reasons don't matter.
President Obama has over three years left, and he'll always be black, so he will remain Public Enemy No. 1 for the bigotted bozos who are the recipients of the right wing hate machine. But I see the demonization of Hillary increasing.
And it will just alienate more and more regular folks who are not plugged into Rush or FoxNews. Outside the bubble, attacks like this make no sense.
So bring on the hate; it just dooms you to the margins.
