Oh all those funds Casey's raised are from liberals. He can't win back my own seat. It has the GOP's name on it, even if I am running for the U.S. Senate.
Looks like one of the Democratic Candidates running in West Virginia's 2nd Congressional District to replace Rep. Shelley Moore Capito (who is running for U.S. Senate) is a lean, mean, fundraising machine.
Nick Casey just announced via a news release that he's raised $150,000 in fundraising for the 3rd Quarter of 2013:

A leading Democrat candidate competing to represent West Virginia's 2nd Congressional District raised more than $150,000 during the last quarter of the fiscal year.
That gives Nick Casey more than $518,000 cash on hand, according to a Monday news release.
"Our campaign's momentum continues and I am so humbled to have such a diverse group of donors... people who are fed-up with our broken Congress," Casey said in the news release.
"Business and labor groups, and people from all walks of life, are supporting this campaign because West Virginians need and deserve a government that works for them."
Here's information on how much Casey has raised to date. It's quite a war chest for a Democratic candidate running to replace a retiring Republican Congresswoman in a state where Barack Obama is not popular:
After announcing his candidacy in late April, Casey posted more than $420,000 on hand for the second quarter of the fiscal year. The campaign raised between $460,000 and $470,000 before the start of the third quarter, thanks in large part to a $300,000 loan from Casey.
Here's Nick Casey explaining why he's running and what he hopes to focus on should he be elected as Congressman in WV-02:

My campaign will focus on energy, infrastructure and the jobs they generate. Jobs repairing and expanding our roads, bridges, internet coverage, and essential infrastructure will help our entire economy grow. Right now in the Second Congressional District we have partially-finished projects. I’m talking about Route 35, Corridor H, Route 9 and other similar projects. Each of these are more than halfway finished and the remaining segments are already designed. Let’s finish these critical projects now, not in 20 or 30 years.
West Virginia has the energy America needs to make us a more independent and prosperous nation. We have the coal, gas, wind, hydro, solar, and geothermal that our country needs. Washington however does not have an energy plan. We need a plan to use our energy resources as cleanly and efficiently as possible. As a nation, switching trucks and cars from foreign oil to West Virginia natural gas is an obvious opportunity. Vehicles run cleaner, cheaper and we keep money here at home while creating good paying jobs.
Other Democratic candidates running in the WV-02 race are Matt Dunn and Meshea Poore. Here are their websites:
