Uh, yeah, every vote does matter. Especially when it comes to making sure people don't live in poverty. Mark one up for a move to a serious minimum wage!
With 100 percent of the vote counted, the SeaTac ballot initiative to hike the minimum wage to $15-an-hour appears to have won by 43 votes. I assume there will still be a recount so one has to be cautious.
So, major kudos particular to the labor movement in the area which spearheaded the effort.
And, per my earlier blog post, it contrasts with the less audacious proposal supported by the White House to raise the federal minimum wage to $10.10.
