From The Statehouse File
[Republican] Gov. Mike Pence on Friday called the state’s infant mortality rate – one of the worst in the nation – “deplorable” and said improving it is a key goal of his administration.
Of course, as a dutiful Republican, Pence has blocked Medicaid expansion.
It gets worse. Not happy with just blocking Medicaid expansion,
Attorney General Zoeller, with taxpayer’s money, is pursuing another legal challenge against the ACA. He is suing to block around another 400,000 Indiana citizens from getting premium assistance through the Affordable Care Act.
Does it occur to any of these people that improved access to health care results in healthier people and healthier infants -- and that more healthier infants results in lower infant mortality? Or is that too much of a logical stretch for small minds to make?
