The Washington Post is reporting the reactions of some Republicans to the U.S. Nuclear Deal with Iran that was reported on Saturday.
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor:
"While I await specific details of the interim agreement, I remain concerned that this deal does not adequately halt Iran's enrichment capabilities . . . Iran's long history of noncompliance with the U.N. Security Council is well known, as is its use of secret facilities to pursue its nuclear program. Iran remains the world's most active state sponsor of terrorism and the most destabilizing force in the Middle East.

Senator Lindsey Graham tweeted:
Unless the agreement requires dismantling of the Iranian centrifuges, we really haven't gained anything.

And Senator John Cornyn tweeted:
Amazing what WH will do to distract attention from O-care

The agreement is a major step towards achieving the U.S. goal of not having a nuclear Iran, which could serve as a threat to the United States and our allies in the Middle East.
You would think that members of the U.S. Congress would give the Obama Administration credit for achieving this first step. But given the Republican strategy of undermining the President every chance that they can, I am not surprised to see these negative statements by these prominent Republicans.
I really believe that the Republican Party is incapable of putting politics aside and acting in the best interest of the country.
