If we need more definitive proof Eric Holder is weak.. his speech in Chicago on Monday was totally worthless and ALL about denial of the WHY behind Chicago's gang violence.
If we need more proof there's zero difference between the democrats and repugs on resolving the totally failed policy, the hideous and phony war on drugs, here it is:
Attorney General Eric Holder announced in Chicago on Monday that the federal government would make more money available to help the nation's third largest city fight persistent street violence.
Holder made that pledge during brief comments at the ceremonial swearing-in for northern Illinois' new U.S. attorney, Zachary Fardon. Fardon has faced a chorus of calls from politicians to make gang, drug and gun crimes that underpin violence in Chicago his top priority.
In the prepared remarks to a federal courtroom packed with judges and lawmakers — including Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Illinois Sens. Dick Durbin and Mark Kirk — Holder did not specify how much money would be coming the city's way.
He alluded to long-running differences over how to bring down street violence in Chicago, saying, "This is simply not a time for institutional friction."
"We must be realistically impatient and results-demanding," he said.
FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL Total and utter failure.
Great that head do nothing, terminally in denial Senator Durbin was in attendance.
Nowhere does Holder, presumably an educated man, indicate the source of much of Chicago's gun/gang violence: the pathetic and obviously failed war on drugs.
Nowhere does Holder finally face the known fact that a major Mexican drug cartel years ago made Chicago a major shipping hub for drugs like meth and cocaine. and this in fact is causing much of the gang violence and deaths of innocents who get caught up in the crossfire, simply because they live in the "wrong" area of the city.
On the night that Jesús Vicente Zambada Niebla strode into the lobby of the Sheraton Maria Isabel Hotel in Mexico City, the price on his head was $5 million.
The Obama administration is taking the exact same tact here as the previous bush administration; "here, we'll throw some
more money at the problem!" that'll help, right?
Thus the Obama administration is a total failure regarding resolving this critical problem.
