NC Teaparty Governor McCrory of voter disenfranchisement infamy tried to stop the NAACP-sponsored protests from starting back up, but failed thanks to a NC Superior Court judge's ruling against him.
So I ask Teapartiers: McCrory tried to block liberty and free speech and right of assembly, something you hypocrites claim as your own. Where's all the Duck Dynasty-style outrage? Where's Fox News?
The Superior Court judge ruled against McCrory though and implemented a temporary restraining order on the Teaparty governor's actions, against his attempts to block free speech.
The protests can continue.
To compound the loss to Team Teaparty McCrory, Special Deputy Attorney General Don Teeter used the hearing as an opportunity to attack gay marriage. And this snipe by this bigoted, conservative attorney wasn't even relevant to his argument.... it was just stupid. This just shows how open conservatives are with their bigotry that they'll even try to use it in a court of law. Amazing.
A Superior Court judge in Raleigh on Monday gave the NAACP permission to rally at the State Capital building to protest the Republican-controlled legislature after Gov. Pat McCrory’s (R) administration refused to approve a permit for the group.
So Mr Teeter is the gov's goon. The Superior court judge is Allen Baddour. The NAACP lawyer is Scott Holmes.
“We want to know what they’re going to do there,” Teeter replied. “Are they going to roast a goat? Are they going to have a womanless wedding? Are they going to have a prayer vigil? Are they going to have a rally? That’s the kind of thing we want to know. We don’t care what they say while they do it.”
“I reject the argument that we are limiting speech at all,” he later added. “These folks have been permitted to go to an appropriate area to speak to their hearts’ content.”
But Baddour ruled that he had no choice but to grant a temporary restraining order, blocking the Department of Administration’s decision not to approve the permit.
The judge said that he suspected that the administration’s ban on the NAACP was “either discretionary or content based.”

And the protests started back up, with the first mass march scheduled for Feb. 8.
Hundreds of protesters marched on the State Capitol Monday evening in a sign that the demonstrations that marked the 2013 legislative session will continue into next year.
The march came hours after a Superior Court judge ruled that state officials improperly denied a permit for the protest.

This is a pretty big victory because these protests are only going to grow at we near the 2014 election. Polls show NC can throw out the Teaparty extremists if we can keep up the momentum.
