Received this e-mail from Senator Chris Coons (D. DE) regarding infrastructure:
Every dollar we fail to invest in America’s crumbling infrastructure is a dollar we fail to invest in America’s future.
For decades, critical improvements to our roads, bridges, railways and ports have gone overlooked by our federal government. You see them every day on your way to work or when you travel. They cause us headaches, but worse than that, they’re holding us back.
They cost us jobs that our communities sorely need and make it harder for our small businesses to grow and compete.
That’s why I’m supporting an innovative, bipartisan approach that partners with local communities to strategically fix the problem.
Planning for the future means building for the future. Help us do that by signing our petition urging passage of bipartisan solutions to improve our dated infrastructure.

When we neglect America’s infrastructure, we’re actually adding to America’s debt. We cannot keep kicking this can down the road, especially since the road is falling apart.
Funding these improvements would immediately create construction jobs, manufacturing jobs, engineering jobs and more. The truth is, every job at an American business relies on a properly functioning infrastructure.
The Building and Renewing Infrastructure for Development and Growth in Employment Act, or BRIDGE Act, would equip state and local governments with creative tools to leverage private funds for infrastructure improvements, while creating new jobs for the present and the future.
