Mccain was one of the most respected Republican senators not long ago.
Now he lies about his position only hours after making it. No filibuster of Hagel then a few hours later, ohh maybe we'll continue these bull shit McCarthy hearings. Yes I'll have some filibuster with my grey poupon.
Then Ted Cruz just throwing it out there, that maybe the North Koreans are sending him some big checks or at least some crunchy Kimche to buy his soul. Just throwing it out there, no proof just maybe he hasn't proven the negative yet....
The commentary really went off the deep end. Jennifer Rubin came out with her bull shit piece, Hagel nominated out of spite. Ok Obama nominates for secdef a republican who was actually shortlisted a few years ago for the republican vice presidential role, just to piss off the GOP. Whatever!

I've never really thought of yahoo as fox light, but sometimes they push the crazy too. Here it floats the idea that Hagel wants diplomacy with Iran, and that will of course cause war with Iran. yahoo Hagel
This meme was floated by wacko Ted Cruz, and now this
with like wise old men who know a lot are saying Hagel is going to start a war.
Of course by implication the only way to avoid war with Iran is with aggressive brinkmanship because that worked so well with Iraq. Hidden in this idea is the racist notion that "those people" only understand threats and violence. With us bombing more than 6 countries with no declaration of war maybe it's us that only understands threats and violence. More about people like me who support Chuck Hagel after the squigly wiggly.
I was searching on google for Hagel support and it was pretty hard to find all the air is taken up by various hacks raising baloney to support their anti Hagel stuff.
Here is a good description of supporters of Hagel, that is written better than I can muster (from wikipedia)
(See it really is not just me! )
Support for the nomination
In December 2012, nine former United States Ambassadors, including five former ambassadors to Israel, wrote a letter in support of nominating Hagel.[115][116] Brent Scowcroft, Anthony Zinni and nine other retired senior military officers signed a separate letter of support.[117] Robert Gates and Colin Powell also endorsed Hagel for the nomination, with Powell calling him "that kind of independent and bold leader who thinks in and out of the box" who can "deal with the strategic and resource challenges [the Department of Defense] will be facing over the next several years."[118] Rabbi Aryeh Azriel, the senior rabbi at Temple Israel in Omaha, Nebraska since 1988, wrote in a CNN article that "[Hagel's] record shows strong support for Israel" and that Hagel understands "the Israeli people and their desire to live in peace and security." He added that "Recent efforts to smear Chuck...ultimately that hurts the long-term security of the state of Israel."[119]
Defenses of Hagel have included opinion pieces by writers Amy Davidson,[120] Thomas Friedman,[121] and Robert Wright, with Wright objecting to what he called "McCarthyite" smears against Hagel.[122] Jeremy Ben-Ami, President of the pro-Israel liberal lobby group J Street, said: âThe notion that Chuck Hagel is anti-Israel is ludicrous. The notion that he is anti-Semitic is slanderous."[103] Harvard University Professor Stephen Walt, co-author of a book critical of the "Israeli lobby,"[123] wrote in Foreign Policy that "The real meaning of the Hagel affair is what it says about the climate inside Washington. Simply put, the question is whether supine and reflexive support for all things Israeli remains a prerequisite for important policy positions here in the Land of the Free."[124]
Commentators at The American Conservative[125][126][127] and Pat Buchanan[128] endorsed Hagel. Hagel's nomination received support from Antiwar.com founder Justin Raimondo and the libertarian think tank Cato Institute;[129] Justin Logan expressed the hope that Hagel's confirmation might "loosen the neoconservative stranglehold on the GOP."[130]
note:I'm sheepishly hiding this way down here, kinda hoping I don't upset the Dungeon Master..
Disappointed Kos relatively on side of Slime ball Lindsey Graham and Odious Ted Cruz. There's still time for your support man! come to the good side!
We need you here! At least Hagel wants to cut the military industrial complex a bit
instead of more money Panetta. Slow walk the draw downs Gates. I know he's taking a pass on this technically not a side, but really if the Hagel is blocked, Obama wounded
Think He'll get someone competent to the left of Hagel? I doubt it.
To zombie supporters, there's not much about Zombies here, except if republicans could pin an attack on Hagel they would.
