Rockwall, Tex. -- A 33-year-old woman was shot and killed and a 40-year-old man was wounded in the parking lot of a shopping center about 8 p.m. last night. After a police chase, a 47-year-old man -- the former boyfriend of the woman -- was arrested. The alleged shooter is a police officer and recently served as an elected constable. The wounded man was in stable condition.
Bridge City, La. -- An 81-year-old grandmother was found shot dead on the kitchen floor of her home about 11:55 p.m. Friday. Police found a trail of bullet casings that began on the street and continued on to the front door and then into the house. The victim was hit multiple times. Three other people inside the house -- her grandson, his girlfriend, and a 3-year-old girl -- were not injured. Police say she might not have been the intended target.
Cedar City, Utah -- Police responding to a home about 2 p.m. Friday found a man fatally shot and a woman wounded. A 54-year-old man considered a person of interest in the case is in custody.
Detroit, Mich. -- A 28-year-old man shot and killed his 66-year-old grandmother and 48-year-old aunt, and wounded his 7-year-old daughter at a home about 6:45 p.m. Friday. He fled the scene and then checked himself into a local hospital for psychiatric evaluation around 1:30 a.m. yesterday. The girl was released from the hospital yesterday.
Memphis, Tenn. -- A man found in a crashed car about 10:30 p.m. Friday had been shot to death.
Tampa, Fla. -- Police responding to a report of a fight about 9:30 p.m. Friday found an 18-year-old man shot dead and another 18-year-old man wounded. No word on the wounded victim’s condition.
Chicago, Ill. -- A 17-year-old male was fatally shot in the head and an 18-year-old male was wounded in the arm while sitting in a car about 6 p.m. yesterday. A vehicle pulled alongside their car and someone inside the vehicle opened fire on the teenagers. The condition of the 18-year-old was listed as stabilized.
Chicago, Ill. -- An 18-year-old woman was found lying on the ground and fatally shot in her upper body about 7 p.m. Police suspect she was struck by gunfire intended for someone else.
Chicago, Ill. -- An 18-year-old woman who was visiting friends and family was fatally shot in the head while on her way to a store in Friday.
Altadena, Calif. -- The body of a 26-year-old man was discovered along a horse trail about 8 a.m. yesterday. He had been shot to death.
Orlando, Fla. -- About 3 a.m. today, police responding to reports of shots fired and injuries at a loud house party found one man dead and two men wounded. The two wounded victims suffered non life-threatening injuries.
Melbourne, Fla. -- A 40-year-old man was shot to death at a nightclub about 2:14 a.m. yesterday after he got into a fight with someone who pulled out a gun and opened fire.
Oakland, Calif. -- A man was found shot dead on a street about 5 p.m. yesterday. He had been hit multiple times.
Charlotte, N.C. -- A 24-year-old man was shot and killed about 12:30 p.m. today. No other information was available.
Philadelphia, Penn. -- Two 22-year-old men were shot and wounded on a street around 7:30 p.m. yesterday. One was reported in critical but stable condition; the other is in serious condition.
Philadelphia, Penn. -- A man about 40 years old was shot in the head while inside a vehicle around 6 p.m. Friday night. He was listed in critical condition.
Chicago, Ill. -- About 9 p.m. yesterday, a 16-year-old male standing on a street corner was shot twice in the shoulder when two males approached him and one of them fired shots from a handgun.
Denver, Colo. -- A 19-year-old man was shot and wounded as he walked with another man on a street about 9:30 p.m. yesterday. The incident began after the two men were confronted by a group of people and an argument ensued. Someone in the group took out a gun and shot the victim. He was listed in stable condition.
Oakland, Calif. -- A man was shot in the leg about 1:10 p.m. Friday during a robbery at his home.
Colorado Springs, Colo. -- About 3:50 a.m. today, police found an adult male shot on a street. His injuries were considered potentially life-threatening.
New Haven, Conn. -- Around 12:30 a.m. yesterday, a police officer found a male about 20 years old in the parking lot of a convenience store suffering from three gunshot wounds. The shooting might be connected to an earlier party at nearby motel. No word on the condition of the victim.
Matthews, N.C.-- Three employees and a delivery driver were at a closed seafood restaurant about 6 a.m. yesterday when two armed robbers came to the back door. The robbers shot and wounded one of the men during the incident. The victim’s injuries were consider non life-threatening.
Indianapolis, Ind. -- Police report someone was shot about 3 p.m. today. No other information is available.

Harper Woods, Mich. -- A 60-year-old man was found fatally shot in his home about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. His car was missing and apparently stolen.
Fort Smith, Ark. -- Early Thursday morning, a 25-year-old woman was shot and killed at her home by her 19-year-old nephew after an argument. The woman’s boyfriend and her two young children were in the home at the time of the shooting. The nephew, who was living on and off with the woman, fled the scene but was later arrested.
Columbus, Miss. -- A 23-year-old man was fatally shot at a Valentine’s Day party at a club early yesterday morning. Police are holding a 17-year-old male in connection with the shooting.
Detroit, Mich. -- A 35-year-old woman was fatally shot and a 12-year-old girl was wounded when several intruders entered a home yesterday morning. Five people, ranging in age from 6- to 35-years-old, were in the home at the time of the shooting. Police say robbery might have been the motive. The child was listed in temporary serious condition.
Milwaukee, Wis. -- A 23-year-old man was shot to death during a robbery inside a house around 3 p.m. yesterday. Police are looking for a suspect.
Oakland, Calif. -- A 31-year-old man at an unlicensed massage parlor was fatally shot during an apparent robbery after two men forced their way past a doorman about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Oak Creek, Wis. -- A 21-year-old woman was shot yesterday and a 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. Her injuries were considered non-life-threatening.
Fort Washington, Md. -- An off-duty sheriff’s deputy arrived home Tuesday night to find his home broken into and at least two male intruders inside. During a confrontation, the deputy shot one of them, a 20-year-old, who ran outside and collapsed. He was pronounced dead on the scene. A 23-year-old was later arrested in connection with the break-in.
Lauderdale Lakes, Fla. -- An unarmed man in his 20s was shot and killed about 3:15 a.m. yesterday by one of two armed off-duty security guards who confronted him about loud music coming from his car in the parking lot of an apartment complex. The guards say the victim reached in the direction of one of guard’s guns, making the other guard fear for their safety, so he used his gun to shoot the man.
Memphis, Tenn. -- A man was fatally shot outside a gas station about 10:45 p.m. yesterday.
St. Louis, Mo. -- A 33-year-old man heard noises outside his home about 1:30 a.m. today and encountered two males, ages 15 and 17, attempting burglary. When the 15-year-old approached him, the homeowner shot and killed the teenager. The accomplice was arrested. Police say the shooting appears to be justified.
Norman, Okla. -- A 51-year-old man found inside a burning house Wednesday had died of a gunshot wound. The victim’s pickup truck is missing . Police are calling the death a homicide and think the fire was set to cover the killing.
Santa Cruz, Calif. -- A 21-year-old female college student waiting at a bus stop about 7:30 p.m. Monday was shot in the head and robbed of her backpack. She saw a car pass by her twice and then park before the incident. She is expected to fully recover.
Washington, D.C. -- A man shot on a street about 5 p.m. Wednesday suffered wounds that were serious but not considered life-threatening.
Searcy, Ark. -- A 24-year-old woman was found fatally shot at an apartment complex around 9:00 a.m. today. She had multiple gunshot wounds. Police are looking for a person of interest.
Clifton, Colo. -- A man attempting to commit suicide by shooting himself in the chest caused an injury to a woman in the house when she was stuck by the bullet after it exited the man’s back. No report on the condition of either victim.
Akron, Ohio -- A 21-year-old man helping a woman move from her apartment about 1 p.m. Wednesday was shot in the arm after the arrival of her boyfriend and a male friend led to a physical altercation. At some point during the incident, the friend pulled out a gun and shot the 21-year-old. The victim’s wounds were considered non life-threatening.
New Haven, Conn. -- Two men, ages 19 and 57, were wounded as patrons were leaving a club and a gunman outside opened fire around 12:45 a.m. today. The older man was there fixing a kitchen drain and happened to be standing outside smoking a cigarette during a work break when the gunfire erupted. Both victims are expected to survive.
Inkster, Mich. -- A security guard at a tax preparation business was shot in the leg during a robbery attempt by two armed intruders about 2:20 p.m. yesterday. The guard returned fire but did not hit either suspect. The victim is expected to recover.
Cleveland, Ohio -- A man was shot while at the bar of a gentleman’s club about 2:30 a.m. today. The victim was listed in stable condition.
Montgomery, Ala. -- Police say a person was shot in the leg today. The injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Cottage Grove, Ore. -- Two men were driving on a highway about 6 p.m. Wednesday when one of them fired a shotgun at another moving vehicle -- a pick-up truck -- striking a rear wheel. The two men and the driver of the pick-up truck had been involved in an earlier dispute at a residence. The assailants, ages 27 and 34, were arrested.
Newton, Mass. --A 21-year-old male motorist was cut off by another driver, so when they both pulled over at a nearby intersection, the man threatened the driver that cut him off -- also 21-years-old -- with a drawn gun. Police were called and arrested the armed driver. The gun was an unlicensed sawed-off .32 caliber revolver with five bullets in the magazine.

Clayton County, Ga. -- A man was shot to death during an argument with a woman inside a residence yesterday. No other information was available.
Cicero, Ill. -- A 17-year-old boy on a street was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene at 7:46 p.m. yesterday.
Ramsey, Minn. -- A 67-year-old woman and her 65-year-old husband were found dead, each with a gunshot wound to the head, apparently the result of a murder-suicide. The couple's daughter had asked police to check on the two after receiving an email from her father saying they were being evicted from their rented house and they planned to kill themselves.
Abbeville, La. -- Two brothers, ages 24 and 25, were shot dead in their home about 8 a.m. Tuesday. A 17-year-old male was later booked on two counts of first-degree murder.
Clayton Township, Mich. -- A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed by his 64-year-old father when the boy began punching and shoving his mother and sister about 1:15 p.m. Sunday. The boy and his mother had been arguing before the incident escalated. Hearing the fight, the father came out of his bedroom with a handgun and shot his son once in the abdomen. Police have had previous contact with the teen because of his behavior.
Cleveland, Ohio -- A 45-year-old woman was shot in the chest and killed about 10:40 p.m. yesterday after she got caught in a crossfire when two men started shooting at each other in a parking lot near her home. Her birthday was Tuesday. She leaves behind five children, ranging in age from 7 to 25.
Oakland, Calif. -- A man was shot to death inside an apartment about 2:30 p.m. yesterday. Witnesses saw two men run from the scene after the shooting.
San Leandro, Calif. -- A man in his late teens was found shot at an elementary school campus around 8:45 p.m. yesterday. He died a short time later at a local hospital. Police think the shooting might have been related to a dice game.
Council Bluffs, Iowa -- A 22-year-old woman and her 19-month-old son were shot and wounded outside their apartment about 5:40 a.m. Tuesday by a 30-year-old man. The woman was struck eight times; the boy was hit in his arm. Police say they know the motive but have not yet released it. The man has been arrested.
Chesterfield County, S.C. -- A 56-year-old man got out of his truck in the parking lot of a county courthouse and sprayed a 21-year-old woman’s car with gunfire. The woman was going to the court to try and prove that he is the father of her 6-month child and to discuss child support. She was hit in the face, chest, and stomach. Her step-father was stuck once. Both are in stable condition.
Albuquerque, N.M. -- Around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, two men showed up at a hospital within a short time of each other with gunshot wounds. That was about an hour after police responded to reports of gunshots fired on a street but found nothing but shell casings and some blood. Police are investigating.
Elizabeth, N.J. -- A 34-year-old man was found shot in the neck and chest and lying on a driveway around 5:40 p.m. yesterday. He was listed in stable condition.
Elizabeth, N.J. -- A man walking on a street about 6:45 p.m. yesterday heard two gunshots and then realized he had been shot in the side. He was in stable condition.
Detroit, Mich. -- Two brothers, ages 16 and 17, shot and wounded by a utility worker they robbed about 9 p.m. on February 7, were charged on Tuesday with armed robbery. The worker -- a 59-year-old male with a license to carry a concealed pistol -- was working on a light pole with a 59-year-old male colleague when the armed teens threatened and robbed the two workers. At some point, the worker managed to shoot the assailants.
Chicago, Ill. -- A man in his mid-20s was shot and wounded during a street-robbery about 2:30 p.m. yesterday. The victim was listed in serious-to-critical condition.
Chicago, Ill. -- Two boys, ages 15 and 16, were shot and wounded as they walked on a sidewalk about 4:45 p.m. yesterday. A friend with the victims at the time said someone came out of an alley and fired four or five shots at them. Both victims were reported as stabilized.
Kendall, Fla. -- A 13-year-old boy was shot at his home around 5 p.m. yesterday. Police responding to reports of shots-fired found three juveniles and one adult inside the home. The victim was listed in critical condition. No arrests have been made. An investigation is underway.
Hendersonville, Tenn. -- A 29-year-old man shot and wounded his 26-year-old wife at a residence about 10 p.m. yesterday. He was charged with aggravated assault although the call came into police as an accidental shooting. Two children at home at the time of the incident were unharmed. No report on the woman’s condition.
Houston, Tex. -- A woman leaving a gym was robbed and shot in the parking lot about 9 p.m. yesterday. A car pulled up to her as she walked to her vehicle and an armed man snatched her purse and shot her. She was listed in stable condition with a punctured lung.
Philadelphia, Penn. -- Earlier this week, a 7-year-old first-grade boy at an elementary school brought a loaded .357 magnum revolver into the cafeteria before school and showed it to some friends. The school police officer took the gun from the boy. A 32-year-old woman, who is not related to the boy, has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Westminster, Colo. -- Two men were having heated words in front of a big-box discount department store when one of the men -- 33-years old -- displayed a holstered gun. The 33-year-old had been talking loudly a cell phone and using profanity when the other man passed by and objected to his behavior. Upon seeing the gun, the passer by immediately tackled the armed man, who was knocked unconscious when his head hit the ground. The armed man was jailed on charges of felony menacing, unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon and reckless endangerment.

Memphis, Tenn. -- A 4-year-old boy died after he found a gun and accidentally shot himself while his mother was asleep in their apartment on Monday.
Oakdale, Minn. -- A 9-year-old boy was shot dead and his mother wounded when a 33-year-old man apparently began to randomly fire at vehicles about 6:10 p.m. Monday. A woman in another vehicle was also wounded. The suspect was in custody. Both women are expected to recover.
New Orleans, La. -- A 22-year-old man was shot in the head on Tuesday about 6:15 p.m. He later died at a local hospital.
Bethel Township, Del. -- On Monday, the son of an 89-year-old man and his 91-year-old wife found the couple shot dead, the result of a murder-suicide. Police did not say who fired the gun.
College Park, Md. -- After a 23-year-old graduate student at a university tried to start a fire in his residence, he used a 9mm handgun to shoot and kill a 22-year-old male roommate and wound another 22-year-old male roommate before using the weapon to kill himself. Police later found a semiautomatic Uzi rifle with ammunition, a machete, and a baseball bat in the gunman’s shoulder-pack. Family members said the shooter was taking medication for a diagnosed mental illness. He was able to legally buy both the handgun and the Uzi, according to police.
Midvale, Utah, -- Police found three people shot dead -- two men and a woman -- and another woman injured, in a house about 8 a.m. yesterday. Police are looking for two suspects. The wounded woman was listed in serious condition.
Miami, Fla. -- Two armed intruders entered a home last night and held a man and his wife at gunpoint. When one of the gunmen tried to enter a room where the man’s 11-year-old daughter was sleeping, he got into a struggle with the intruders. A gun went off and the father was struck and killed.
Jersey City, N.J. -- Someone was shot and killed in the doorway of a multi-family building late yesterday. A neighbor said the victim appeared to be a young male.
Washington, D.C. -- A 19-year-old man was found fatally shot about 5:15 p.m. Sunday.
Orlando, Fla. -- Two men, ages 21 and 22, were found shot dead inside a home yesterday afternoon.
St. Louis, Mo. -- A 33-year-old man was found fatally shot on a train platform about 11:40 p.m. yesterday. He had been shot in the stomach.
West Palm Beach, Fla. -- A man in his early 20s was shot on a street and killed about 3:30 p.m. Monday.
Indianapolis, Ind. -- A 38-year-old man was fatally shot while on the phone with his wife as he backed his vehicle out of his driveway about 8 a.m. today. His wife, who was away from home, called 911 after hearing a scuffle and sounds of her husband in distress. Police are trying to determine if the shooting might be related to recent robberies in the area.
Alameda, Calif. -- A 40-year-old man was shot in the back while attempting to get to his gun when two male robbers entered his residence about 7:25 p.m. Monday. The victim was in critical condition.
Caldwell, Idaho -- A 34-year-old man was shot by his 41-year-old wife during a domestic dispute. The incident began as the couple argued Sunday and he told his wife to shoot him. Thinking the gun was unloaded, she pointed it at him and pulled the trigger to scare him with the sound of the trigger click. The gun fired, striking the man. He is hospitalized in intensive care and she was arrested.
Harris County, Tex. -- A female clerk was shot and wounded during a robbery at a food store around 9 p.m. last night. No report on her condition.
El Paso County, Colo. -- A 33-year-old man was shot in the back at a party yesterday morning. A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting. The victim was listed in serious but stable condition.
Chicago, Ill. -- A 16-year-old boy was shot in the back on a street about 5 p.m. Monday. A witness saw a gunman fire two or three shots before running into an nearby alley. The victim was listed in critical condition.
New Orleans, La. -- Two women were shot, one of them in the stomach, outside a restaurant about 8:15 p.m. yesterday. No report on the condition of the two victims.
Akron, Ohio -- A 21-year-old woman in a van with at least five other people was shot by a gun fired from inside the vehicle. She is in critical condition.
Dallas, Tex. -- A 33-year-old man was shot in the ankle in a drive-by shooting early this morning. The victim said the shooters were men he had gotten into a shouting match with earlier at a bar.
Lochearn, Md. -- A man was found shot on a street about 8:15 p.m. yesterday. His injuries were reported as serious and potentially life-threatening.
Chelsea, Ala. -- A man with a gun entered a middle school about 3:10 p.m. yesterday and held several students against their will in a girl’s locker room. Details were still sketchy, but it was reported that, at some point, a gym teacher stepped in front of the gunman and told the students to get out of the room. The teacher then called the police. The suspect -- a former student at the school and former part-time summer help employee -- is in custody.
Middletown, Conn. -- A 56-year-old man is accused of threatening two snow-plow drivers with a loaded shotgun about 3:40 p.m. Friday, apparently because he was unhappy they were pushing snow onto his property during a blizzard. The drivers were clearing snow from a nearby condo complex.
Franklin Lakes, N.J. -- A single rifle round went through a home sometime between 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Police say the shot appears to have come from a wooded area behind the house. The bullet struck the back of the house, then it went completely through the structure and exited out the front. No one was hurt.
Nashville, Tenn. -- A handgun was found in a student’s backpack at a middle school on Monday.

Wilmington, Del. -- A man in his 50s or 60s walked into the public lobby of a courthouse about 8 a.m. today and opened fire killing two women -- one of them believed to be his estranged wife. He also wounded two police officers. The man died from a gunshot wound, but authorities were not yet sure if it was from police fire or self-inflicted. The officer’s wounds were considered non life-threatening.
Kiln, Miss. -- A 20-year-old woman was killed by her 21-year-old brother at their home yesterday evening after she tried to break up an argument between him and his ex-girlfriend.
Trenton, N.J. -- A young man was shot and killed and found lying on a sidewalk around 2:30 p.m. Police have not yet released any information, but several local residents say he was a 16-year-old boy.
Price, Utah -- A 37-year-old man fatally shot his 32-year-old wife before shooting and killing himself about 3 a.m. yesterday. The four children in the house -- a 13-year-old girl, an 11-year-old boy, and twin 7-year-old girls -- were unharmed.
Marrero, La. -- A 58-year-old man was shot and killed about 3 a.m. today. No other information was available.
Tulsa, Okla. -- A 22-year-old woman was fatally shot in the head at an apartment complex about 7:30 p.m. yesterday. A 25-year-old woman who knew the victim was arrested on a complaint of first degree murder.
Chester, Penn. -- About 9:30 a.m. yesterday, a 22-year-old man was found lying face down in back of a home with fatal gunshots wounds to the back and buttocks.
Atlantic City, N.J. -- A 25-year-old man was shot and killed outside a restaurant about 7:30 p.m. yesterday.
Houston, Tex. -- A 25-year-old man was fatally shot multiple times in his bed during a home invasion about 4 a.m. yesterday. After hearing the shots, the victim’s grandparent’s came out of their bedroom and confronted the shooter, who pointed a gun at the grandmother before fleeing the house.

Highland, Ill. -- A 55-year-old woman shot a 33-year-old man twice about 3:30 a.m. yesterday after he forced his way into her apartment and threw her to the floor before putting her 47-year-old sister in a choke hold and demanding money. The intruder was in critical condition.
Chehalis, Wash -- A 24-year-old man shot and wounded a 51-year-old man who entered his residence about 5 a.m. yesterday, then he held the intruder at gunpoint until police arrived. The intruder was to be held for investigation for burglary and assault. He is in stable condition.
Tampa, Fla. -- A deliveryman was robbed and shot Sunday night by two men who approached him with a gun after he dropped off a pizza at an apartment complex. He is in stable condition.
Twin Falls, Idaho -- A man who was shot and wounded told the police it was his brother that fired the gun. The victim is in stable condition.
Spring Valley, Calif. -- A victim showed up at a hospital with multiple gunshot wounds early yesterday morning. A short time earlier police had responded to shots fired outside a bar, but no one there appeared to be involved.
Detroit, Mich. -- A state trooper was shot in the leg while searching for suspected robbers in an abandoned house around 4 a.m. today. Two suspects have been arrested. The trooper was reported as “doing fine” and expected to recover.
Little Rock, Ark. -- A 25-year-old man entering a house was shot in the leg by someone outside the residence around 5:30 a.m. Saturday. A car was heard speeding off after the shooting. The victim’s injury was described as serious but he was expected to survive.
Little Rock, Ark. -- A man getting into a car was shot in the back about 4:30 a.m. Saturday. Doctors said the victim, shot five times, was expected to survive, although he appeared to be paralyzed from the chest down.
Dauphin Borough, Penn. -- A 55-year-old man scheduled for sentencing in court today on burglary charges told his wife he did not want to go to jail and grabbed a rifle. Police then talked to him for about 45 minutes until a gunshot was heard and they discovered the man accidentally shot himself in the arm.
Little Rock, Ark. -- Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe this afternoon signed the so-called Guns in Churches bill into law. The law gives individual churches the right to allow guns inside their buildings.

Tyler, Tex. -- An argument that began inside a mall and then spilled out into the parking lot ended when a 25-year-old man was shot twice in the chest and killed by a 23-year-old man yesterday morning. The shooter has been arrested.
Conroe, Tex. -- A 35-year-old man went into a big-box department store where his wife worked, then sat on a bench at the pharmacy department and committed suicide by pulling out a handgun and shooting himself in the head. Police believe the couple had marital problems.
Detroit, Mich. -- A 32-year-old woman was found shot to death and slumped over the steering wheel of her vehicle on an interstate highway about 3:40 a.m. yesterday.
Conway, Ark. -- Police investigating a wrecked pick-up truck on an interstate highway discovered the driver had been shot and killed. Police believe a passing motorist shot the victim as he was driving.
Queens, N.Y. -- A 27-year-old man was shot in the chest and killed by one of two men who approached him as he walked out of a liquor store about 9:40 p.m. yesterday.
Durham, N.C. -- A 24-year-old man was shot to death in the parking lot of a crowded mall about 1 p.m. yesterday. Three men -- two 18-year-olds and a 19-year-old -- all acquaintances of the victim, have been charged with murder.
Oakland, Calif. -- A man was shot to death on a street about 10:30 p.m. yesterday. No other information was available.
Caldwell, Idaho -- A 59-year-old man was shot multiple times and killed at his home. Police are holding a 34-year-old woman on suspicion of murder and grand theft.
Phoenix, Ariz. -- A 36-year-old man arriving home about 11 a.m. Friday found four men ransacking the property. Two of the intruders fled the home through a carport. The other two came out of a bedroom area and when one of them -- a 16-year-old male -- came at the homeowner, he pulled out a gun from a holster in his waistband and shot the intruder, killing him.
Cleveland, Ohio -- A 41-year-old man found lying dead in his driveway about 10 p.m. yesterday had been shot multiple times.
Montgomery, Ala. -- A man was found shot to death at a motel. No other details available.
Independence, Mo. -- A 31-year-old man faces first-degree involuntary manslaughter and armed criminal action after he accidentally shot his 46-year-old girlfriend in the stomach at his home about noon yesterday. The woman died later at a local hospital. The man did not think the gun was loaded.
Colorado Springs, Colo. -- A 29-year-old man was shot dead at a motel about 9:30 a.m. yesterday. Police are looking for a 25-year-old man in connection with the shooting.
Riverton, Utah -- A man cleaning a handgun in a home with several friends shot one of them in the stomach when the gun accidentally fired about 2 p.m. yesterday. The victim’s injuries appeared to be non life-threatening.
Philadelphia, Penn. -- On a street just before midnight last night, a 25-year-old man was found shot six times -- twice in the buttocks and once each in the chest, thigh, face, and head. He was listed in critical condition.
New Orleans, La. -- Two women and two men were shot on a crowded Bourbon Street in the French Quarter. Police believe the incident was related to an argument that broke out between several people in the crowd. One of the victims was wounded in the abdomen, thigh and pelvis. He was listed in critical condition; the other victims were in stable condition.
Denver, Colo. -- Someone was shot on a street about 8:40 p.m. yesterday. No other information was available.
Nashville, Tenn. -- Police are investigating a shooting at a home about 9:30 a.m. today. The victim was transported to a hospital. No other details are available.

Houston, Tex. -- The owner of a coffee bar and game room, believed to be in his late 40s, was shot and killed about 3:30 p.m. yesterday when he pulled out a handgun and fired at two armed men attempting to rob him. The would be robbers fled, although police believe they might be wounded.
Birmingham, Ala. -- A 22-year-old-man died at a local hospital yesterday afternoon after being found shot and unconscious in a car stopped at a traffic signal light.
Fort Washington, Md. -- A 27-year-old man was brought to a fire station fatally shot about 12:20 a.m. yesterday.
Reno, Nev. -- A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed and another person was grazed in the head after a drive-by shooting about 2 p.m. Friday.
Parma, Ohio -- A 29-year-old man accidentally shot himself in the hand while cleaning a handgun at his home about 11:30 p.m. on January 25. The bullet went through the man’s hand, then it continued on through a window and into the ground in his yard.
Colorado Springs, Colo. -- A woman entering the passenger seat of her boyfriend’s vehicle early today knocked his loaded handgun off the seat and onto the floor where it discharged and sent a bullet through both of her calves. The wounds are non-life-threatening.

East Ridge, Tenn. -- About 4:30 a.m. today, a man shot and wounded his 34-year-old former boyfriend who was breaking into his home. Sometime earlier, when the two had words at a big-box department store, the ex-boyfriend had threaten to come to his home and kill the man. No word on his condition.
New York, N.Y. -- About 3 p.m. Thursday, a 13-year-old boy used a 9 mm handgun to shoot across a street at a 14-year-old boy who had recently jumped him. No one was hit. The boy was expected to be held at juvenile detention facility.
Memphis, Tenn. -- A gunfight erupted outside an elementary school Thursday morning. The incident began as a woman dropped off her young children and was approached by the children's 35-year-old father. The parents began to argue and when the man pushed her, the woman stabbed him in the arm. He then retrieved a handgun from his car and fired four shots at the woman. That prompted a 19-year-old man who was with the woman to pull out a gun and return fire. Both shooters were arrested.
Nashville, Tenn. -- A man was shot and wounded in the parking lot of a restaurant about 7:20 p.m. yesterday after he was approached by three man in ski masks demanding money. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.
