and therefore ineligible to ever be President...
That may not be such a big stumbling-block to possible Presidential ambitions as some think... including on Lawrence O'Donnell's show last night.
President Obama's mother was an American citizen, even if his father wasn't.
Senator John McCain wasn't born in the territorial U.S., but his parents were citizens.
Maybe I've missed something since "Sen. McCarthy-Mini-Me" showed up and started accruing media attention, but his Congressional bio page says his mother is a nice Irish-Italian girl from Delaware! Yes, his father was a Cuban refugee and I have yet to find details of when he gained his citizenship, and yes, Ted was born in Calgary. But I haven't seen anything about his mother's having discarded her American-born citizenship for that trip to Canada, which is about the only thing that occurs to me as possibly being able to invalidate HER status as an American citizen, and therefore Ted's.
Anybody know more about this? More than is on his Wiki page or his Senate Bio webpage?
