Addendum for February 4, 2013
For Daily Kos Connecticut and Minnesota residents:
On January 15, Connecticut legislative leaders created a bipartisan task force on gun violence prevention and children's safety. The task force is going to review current law and make recommendations on potential legislation to prevent gun violence, enhance school security, and ensure the availability of mental health services in Connecticut.
You’ll find a list of Connecticut House and Senate legislators here:

I’m hoping you’ll contact your local Connecticut representatives and tell them to pass stronger gun laws.
You might even want to email (or FAX or snail-mail) them a week’s worth of “Another Day in the (Gun Crazy) U.S.A.” diaries. Then resend it once a week while they work on the task force. They need to know the gun slaughter goes on day after day after day.
Also, next week, Minnesota legislators will consider a ban on certain assault-style weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines, tighter background checks and measures to keep guns out of the hands of felons are among the solutions legislators are looking at in the wake of a series of high-profile shootings across the country.
