Saturday, March 2, seven of us gathered at Cafe Bizou, a consistent good value California French (if I have to get the influence from anywhere, I'd say France) restaurant on Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks for our first Valley Kossacks meeting. I was happy with it, and I think all the other attendees were too. How could we NOT be when the weekend special looked like this:
That would be Crab Cakes Benedict, with crab cakes standing in for the canadian bacon. (Yes, navajo; this food pron is for you!) The hollandaise had a touch of cayenne too. The pale thing on the right is a slice of honeydew melon. What's not to like?
So, the attendees. My apology for the quality of the pictures. I'll get better at this. From my right:
susans and Mr. susans. Casey (Mr. Susans) felt just like one of us, and we were happy that both of them came up from Long Beach to join us.
SanFernandoValleyMom, enjoying her brunch. RLMiller attended too as a person of mystery, and we're all keeping the confidentiality.
Shockwave and gloriana. We were having fun, as you can see.
Your diarist. Now that I have one of these events under my belt, I'll have even more fun with the subsequent meetups. Next one for the entire LA Kossack community:
March 23: Our monthly meeting downtown, at Casey's Irish Pub at 2 PM.
