Has anyone else noticed, in the last couple of weeks, some of the charts Rachel uses are being set up "backwards"?? It's bugging us A LOT.
Tonite (Tues, 6th), there was the "who's got the money in America" (Norton & Ariely) , what Americans think it should be, what they think it probably is, and what it really is. It was set up "backwards", to my eye, with the top-20%-of-population ON THE LEFT and the bottom-20% ON THE RIGHT! Maybe that's logical in chinese or hebrew, but I expect that kind of progression to run the other way ("small" or "low" on the left, to "big" or "high" on the right).
The other day, she was showing the rise & fall of poll numbers on favorability, and the most recent numbers were ON THE LEFT, with the oldest ON THE RIGHT! Again, backwards (oldest dates are supposed to be on the left, "increasing" to most current date on the right).
On the same shows, we saw charts that did go the "usual" way, but can't figure out where these "backward" layouts could possibly be coming from. They've been showing up for 2-3 weeks, not many but enough to notice.
Or am I just old suddenly, and this layout has been around forever, after all? 8-)
Don't know if any other MSNBC shows are using this odd format; only watch Lawrence regularly (in add. to TRMS)
