We already know that the American Family Association's radio network, American Family Radio, is a cesspool of right-wing extremism. But after today, you have to wonder if Tim Wildmon is giving succor to anti-Semitism.
This morning, AFR morning host and Faux News contributor Sandy Rios had Jerome Corsi on her show to promote his new book, The Bad Samaritans, an attack on the ACLU. At one point during the show, Rios and Corsi launched into a discussion about Jewish influence on the ACLU and what role it plays in its supposed effort to destroy our "Judeo-Christian heritage." People for the American Way got a clip.
Rios: I know that there are powerful Jewish forces behind the ACLU; can you just say a word about that very briefly, what’s that all about?
Corsi: There has been a real union between Jews in America and the Democratic Party ever since President Truman agreed with the partition of Palestine and created the state of Israel in 1948 at the UN. But my book is arguing for a Judeo-Christian faith, which is the heart of America. We cannot abandon the Judeo-Christian tradition. If we do we are abandoning our whole values that are fundamental lynchpins of our freedom.
So let's get this straight. These "powerful Jewish forces" are using the ACLU to chip away at the very foundation of our country. Am I the only one who just heard a dog whistle?
There's no question about it in my mind--Rios and Corsi have just shown their true colors. And as long as she remains on the air, as far as I'm concerned AFR is endorsing "polite" anti-Semitism.
