More below the fold:
See, I have a dual responsibility here. I have the mission to not only write the raid reports for Team Z, but to discuss topics of interest to the guild as a whole.
This is why I'm going to discuss this WoW Insider article about the lore for this patch, to catch everyone up to the upcoming 5.3 patch I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE WE GOT HIM WE GOT HIM WE FINALLY GOT ELEGON!
It wasn't even a last-minute, by-the-skin-of-the-teeth, after-enrage-timer kill either. We were working on the dance, working on our stacking and cooldowns on the final phase and suddenly Elegon was a corpse on the floor and the discs were coming down. We may have had a couple of DPS dead in the pull.
We had enough time to take a couple of pokes at the Will of the Emperor. I don't think I'm going to like this fight at all, but at least it's not Arthas-damned Elegon.
Let's see what the other raid teams have to report. Here's Ninotchka with Team Kaels:
Team Kaels almost became a victim of our own complicated plans this week, but we were saved by magnanimous help from Team RubiPam and Team Z.
On Tuesday, Jantuk came in once again to substitute for Ashblade and help us out. Our rogue couldn’t make it either, so Heinkel (to the rescue!) brought in his shaman. It’s a Monara week, which means that the trash between Jin’rokh and Horridon was especially annoying. Unfortunately, Jantuk was working from a hotel wifi setup and started getting very bad lag spikes. We ended up calling it early.
Last night, we all agreed that we didn’t want to deal with Horridon again this week. We cajoled Thanael into temporarily extending his lockout so that we could start with Council, and we brought in Kaels’ warlock to make sure we could skip to the latest boss once we had killed Council. Unfortunately we forgot that Kaels had killed Jin’rokh the night before so that lockout was gone. But Heinkel (to the rescue!) had substituted for us last week so he was able to temporarily extend his lockout and bring us to the later part of the raid.
And so we managed to kill the big giant blob of red goo (Dark Animus) after much lockout finagling. Our next encounter is Iron Qon, which I won’t be present for since SOMEONE in my household volunteered us to chaperone the girl scouts at a giant campout on the beach, adjacent to a giant boy scout campout on the beach. Yes, this weekend I will be duenna to a pack of 12-14 year old girls who are convinced that they are older than they actually are. Wish me luck.

Dark Animus down! Congratulations! And good luck with the Early Teens Hormones boss. You're going to need it.
And here's Pamena with Team RubiPam's report:
Team RubiPam had a good week as we FINALLY got Horridon down! Elu had asked for help on the MMO forums, and we acted on one suggestion on the third door that had been giving us fits. This involved having Baelz and Elu, our two melee, handle one set of adds in one place while the dps mowed down the rest, and Thanael pulling the big guy gradually toward the 4th door. We got to the last stage a couple of times, and finally got him, just as (well, actually just after) he enraged, with only 2 people dead and everyone else pew pewing like crazy! SOOOO satisfying! Monday night, we got some good work in on Council, and we hope to get that one down this week or next week. Tonight is our last night with Baelz before he takes his game break, so here's hoping we send him out in a blaze of glory!
|
And congratulations on Horridon! We'll miss Baelz, so here's hoping that tonight is a suitable blaze of glory to send him off to his break.
And finally, the Team Z raid report from Moodyloner:
WE GOT HIM
WE GOT HIM
WE GOT HIM
WE GOT HIM
WE GOT HIM
WE GOT HIM

That's all I have this week. If the PvP group wants to send me a report, I'll put it here. Otherwise, that's it for this week.
For the Horde!
