You may have heard that Larry Flynt, the CEO of Hustler Magazine, has endorsed embattled Republican candidate Mark Sanford in the special election in the 1st Congressional District of South Carolina.
I'd figure that I'd mention that, back in 2009, Flynt, along with Girls Gone Wild CEO Joe Francis, asked for a $5 billion bailout for the porn industry from the federal government back in January of 2009, and Flynt was quoted by TMZ as saying this about the proposed bailout of the American porn industry:
With all this economic misery and people losing all that money, sex is the farthest thing from their mind. It's time for Congress to rejuvenate the sexual appetite of America.
Here's how Keith Olbermann, then the host of MSNBC's
Countdown with Keith Olbermann, reported that story:
Public Policy Polling noted via Twitter that their upcoming poll of the race between Sanford and Democratic challenger Elizabeth Colbert-Busch that it will be the first time, at least to their knowledge, that Larry Flynt has popped up in a PPP poll. I'm guessing they're going to poll Flynt's approval rating in SC-1, but I'm not 100% sure of that.
Mark Sanford's campaign has been nothing but one public relations nightmare after another, and this is the latest public relations nightmare for the Sanford campaign.
