Total number of Americans either killed or wounded by guns each year: Over 100,000 (277 each day)
* Brady Campaign (gun deaths from police intervention not included here)
Do you think our government would act like they are sleepwalking if a terrorist organization managed to kill or wound over 100,000 American’s each year? Would our elected representatives simply say there is nothing that can be done. We know, of course, they would do plenty. And they would do it fast.
So why won’t they do something about gun violence in the U.S.A.?
Please help. Call, write, email, or FAX your representatives in Washington, D.C. and tell them to support common sense gun controls. Do it today. And do it again next week. And then every week after that until they get the message.

A lobbyist for an NRA chartered organization in Wisconsin recently said gun-rights proponents need only wait-out the “Connecticut effect” before they can once again start passing laws to loosen restrictions on guns. That lobbyist thinks we will soon forget what happened at Sandy Hook, and those of us who want common sense gun laws will eventually lose interest and fade away. Then the NRA will have our elected representatives all to themselves, just the way they like it.
I think both the lobbyist and the NRA need to know that this time is different. This time we are not going away.
Please help. Call, write, email, or FAX your representatives in Washington, D.C. and tell them to support common sense gun controls. Do it today. And do it again next week. And then every week after that until they get the message.

Addendum for May 15, 2013
A lobbyist for an NRA chartered organization in Wisconsin recently said gun-rights proponents need only wait-out the “Connecticut effect” before they can once again start passing laws to loosen restrictions on guns. The lobbyist thinks that we will soon forget what happened at Sandy Hook, and that those of us who want common sense gun laws will eventually lose interest and fade away. Then the NRA will have our elected representatives all to themselves, just the way they like it.
I think that lobbyist and the NRA need to know that this time is different. This time we are not going away.
Please help. Call, write, email, or FAX your representatives in Washington, D.C. and tell them to support common sense gun controls. Do it today. And do it again next week. And then every week after that until they get the message.
