News from the National Rifle Association (N.R.A.)
May, 17, 2013 -- NRA SUPPORTS LAWSUIT AGAINST GUN CONTROL IN COLORADO
Fairfax, Va. -- The National Rifle Association is proud to support a lawsuit filed today in federal court by 54 Colorado county sheriffs, the firearms industry trade association, several firearms retailers, individuals with disabilities and other parties which challenges the State of Colorado’s recently enacted gun control laws.
“The National Rifle Association, the many plaintiffs in this case, and the law-abiding gun owners in the state of Colorado know that the recently enacted gun control laws are unconstitutional,” said Chris W. Cox, executive director of the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action.
The NRA never sleeps. And they have lots of patience. They never lose interest in their cause -- no matter how high the body count. They believe the supporters of common sense gun control will soon go back into hibernation. Then they can get back to supporting an agenda that insures 100,000 Americans will be killed or wounded by guns each year.
Perhaps we don’t have an “Institute for Legislative Action,” but we have numbers on our side. A Reason-Rupe poll released Wednesday showed that 62 percent of Americans want the Senate to "move on" from stalled gun control legislation.
Let’s show the N.R.A. that we have not lost interest in OUR cause. Call, write, email, or FAX your representatives in Washington, D.C. and tell them to support common sense gun control. Do it today. And do it again next week. And do it again every week after that until they get the message.

Do you think our government would act like they are sleepwalking if a terrorist organization managed to kill or wound over 100,000 American’s each year? Would our elected representatives simply say there is nothing that can be done. We know, of course, they would do plenty. And they would do it fast.
So why won’t they do something about gun violence in the U.S.A.?
Please help. Call, write, email, or FAX your representatives in Washington, D.C. and tell them to support common sense gun controls. Do it today. And do it again next week. And then every week after that until they get the message.

A lobbyist for an NRA chartered organization in Wisconsin recently said gun-rights proponents need only wait-out the “Connecticut effect” before they can once again start passing laws to loosen restrictions on guns. That lobbyist thinks we will soon forget what happened at Sandy Hook, and those of us who want common sense gun laws will eventually lose interest and fade away. Then the NRA will have our elected representatives all to themselves, just the way they like it.
I think both the lobbyist and the NRA need to know that this time is different. This time we are not going away.
Please help. Call, write, email, or FAX your representatives in Washington, D.C. and tell them to support common sense gun controls. Do it today. And do it again next week. And then every week after that until they get the message.
