Just in on Yahoo News (citing Reuters) is the report that the Hackers Def Con Convention founder Jeff Moss has told the Feds that Hackers and Big Gov should take a "time-out" from one another. As reported in the Yahoo News reprint of Reuters story "Hackers convention ask government to stay away over Snowden" - it states;

BOSTON (Reuters) - The annual Def Con hacking convention has asked the U.S. federal government to stay away this year for the first time in its 21-year history, saying Edward Snowden's revelations have made some in the community uncomfortable about its presence.
"It would be best for everyone involved if the Feds call a 'time-out' and not attend Def Con this year," conference founder Jeff Moss said in an announcement posted Wednesday night on the convention's website.
Even more important (and debatable) is the fact of "if" the Feds will agree! (I highly doubt it). Is it possible that Snowden was hired via a Hackers convention? As the Reuters story details, the Feds compete with corporations for the talent found at Def Con. As remarked by the story;
It has also become a fertile venue for recruiting. The U.S. military, intelligence agencies and law enforcement typically compete with corporations to find new talent at Def Con.
The Department of Homeland Security and FBI declined comment. Pentagon officials could not be reached
Stay tuned for a future D that I'm going to do on the Snowden case. My verdict on who/what Mr. Snowden is will be out until more evidence arrives. Meanwhile, it doesn't really matter what his motivation was. Whether Snowden got mad at his bosses, was just in a bad mood, got drunk or dared; we now know another detail about big gov acting in bad faith.
And that's a Good Thing!
