Dear R&BLers:
In our never-ending effort to improve the content on Readers and Book Lovers, it gives me great pleasure to announce we have a new series and Editor forthcoming. So, check your personal streams so you don't miss the debut and succeeding installments.
Please welcome to our Weekly Magazine Schedule, Caedy, who will be bringing a weekly diary to all our Followers about what she's reading on her Kindle and will want you to share what's on yours, or your Nook, or your smartphone, perhaps. Look for her to brighten up your weekends each SUN at 2:00PM ET beginning July 14th. That's "What's on Your e-Reader?" I know what's on mine -- too many unread books!
ATTENTION ALL ADMINS & EDITORS of WEEKLY SERIES
Please be advised that it's important to keep the copy of the Weekly Magazine Schedule that you republish to your installments for the convenience of our readers current and reflecting the latest changes. I ask that you look in the Queue at our Evergreen Diary (one that remains in the queue but is never published) by Susan from 29, titled "R&BLers Schedule." It is updated as need be and should be checked by you -- I suggest weekly -- against the one you are currently using for any changes. Thank you! Individual notices will not be e-mailed to you regarding any changes, so please take the initiative to check for yourselves.
ATTENTION EDITORS
Please do not ask your casual contributors to your series to request "membership" upgrades from the Admins in order that they might schedule their diaries. It is up to you to schedule ALL diaries that are published to your series whether you have written them or not. Yes, we are happy to make it possible for Contributors to queue diaries. Once they have done so, let your guest diarists know that they should notify you so that you can schedule it for them. I appreciate your cooperation. I've seen more than one diary "die" in the queue for lack of scheduling. Admins are NOT allowed to schedule diaries for any series other than their own.
ATTENTION CONTRIBUTORS
If you queue a diary, you must contact an Editor (if it's intended for a series) or an Admin (only when it is not an installment of one of our regular series) by PM or private e-mail for it to be scheduled. Otherwise, you risk it never seeing the light of DK and perhaps feeling miffed because no one took care of it for you. We are not clairvoyant and don't know that you've queued your work unless you tell us. (I bet you thought we were clairvoyant!)
ATTENTION EVERYBODY: Two Things
If you republish a diary to R&BLers (and I thank you for catching content that should be directed to our Followers), please be sure to add the minimum two tags "R&BLers" and "Readers & Book Lovers," exactly as written. I've noticed an increasing number of republished diaries are not getting those tags. It's important that all work published and republished to this Group receive our "trademark" tags as judicious use of them is the only way we can preserve the integrity of DK tagging/indexing system so that it remains useful and convenient to everyone who uses DK, R&BLers Followers, or not. Thanks for your attention to that detail.
Finally. . .If you write a diary and publish it to your personal page (not to R&BLers Group) and use our tags, it will not help your diary to be seen by our Followers. Only diaries published or republished to the Group are seen by them. As a result, such tags are misleading to the general readership and corrupt the tagging/indexing system as well as confuse users who are statistic enthusiasts. (And they DO exist.) Remember, our two required tags are, for lack of a better term, proprietary in the sense that they are restricted and meaningful only to diaries published by the Group.
End of housekeeping. I hope you didn't lose your place in the book you're reading. Thank you very much for reading this dull but necessary diary -- except for the BA part of it! -- and thanks in advance for your cooperation.
