So apparently if there is a big enough public outcry -- some senators will get off their butts and do something.
Something, like study the problem. Well, at least it's a start ... an acknowledgement there may be something wrong, with billionaires buying our legislation.
Senate panel to review 'stand your ground' laws

Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois, the assistant Democratic leader, will conduct the hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee panel on civil rights that he chairs. Details on who will testify and the date of the hearing, expected to be held in September when senators get back from their summer recess, will be announced in the coming weeks.

Durbin's office said the September hearing will look at the influence of the gun lobby and American Legislative Exchange Council, an organization that provides state legislators with model legislation, in creating and promoting these self-defense laws.
The hearing will also explore the ways in which these statutes have changed the legal definition of self defense and whether the laws have encouraged unnecessary shooting confrontations. The civil rights implications when racial profiling and "stand your ground" laws mix together will also be discussed, Durbin's office said.
Only one more Question Senators --
What took you so damn long?
How many more innocent people have to die, before Congress gets off its collective ass
-- and does something!
... before they decide act, to try and correct the far too many ALEC-sponsored social wrongs?
Democracy 'for sale' to the highest bidder -- is no damn democracy at all, worthy of the name.

When? probably not soon enough -- to prevent more unnecessary lost of innocent lives, to a gun-culture on steroids -- with next to no constraints.
A culture now quite-well protected by some very one-sided SYG laws ... in addition to their guns.
