Several days ago, a DK staff member emailed me and suggested that, for the good of the community, I consider leaving Daily Kos.
Actually, to be more precise, elfling – upon reading my post about how many readers are confusing "Troubadour" and "The Troubadour" – made an incredibly gracious and unique offer: Daily Kos would allow me to change my name and still keep my original ID.
Meaning: in short order, I am going to be retiring the name "The Troubadour" while still writing under my original user ID.
My new name will be, well, my real name: David Harris-Gershon (without the hyphen, since ID builds aren't quite that progressive yet).
A huge thank you to kos and staff for doing this, and to Troubadour for quietly sharing the stage with a writer who mirrored his name, but not many of his political views.
He was here first, and there's only enough room in this orange town for one Troubadour.
Note:
Wow -- elfling is amazing. My name was changed after I posted this diary. So long, "The Troubadour." You treated me better than I deserved.
