I once had a business teacher who had the distinction of witnessing the collapse of the USSR first hand.
The things this professor told me about were oddly reminiscent of what I imagine a total collapse of our world wide financial system would look like. My professor told me that syringes, food, drinkable water and other basic supplies were no where to be found as the goods being produced in one area were not being transported to where they were needed.
People say that this sort of thing could never happen in the United States. I say that they are wrong. I live smack dab in the middle of the city of San Bernardino. San Bernardino is going through a bankruptcy right now due to the collapse of the housing market and basic city services are collapsing. Crime rates, one being brought to a heel with a revamped aggressive police force, are once again skyrocketing.
San Bernardino is being compared to Detroit. I think that this is true. There are no real job opportunities where I live. I am saving money to leave.
It kind of leaves me to wonder what a world wide financial collapse would look like.
Goods would not be transported, as people would not have the money to pay for them, as currency would be worthless.
People would have to figure out how to produce goods and take them to where they were needed without money. That would never happen.
