The Chinaberry Tree Picture of the Day Project
Back in March of this year sometime I was introduced to a page on Facebook called That Tree (If you aren't on Facebook check out http://thattree.net). Photographer Mark Hirsch had challenged himself to take picture of an old Oak Tree, that was on his daily route to and from work, with only his iPhone. The challenge was to take a picture everyday for a year and post it to his Facebook page. During that year his Facebook Page grew with views to a point that he now has over 30,000 likes. While the year was up awhile ago he still continues to take pictures of the tree and post them to the That Tree page.
What I loved about what he had been doing was that I had been doing something similar for a couple of years. I had put my pro equipment aside and had been taking a picture every day with my iPhone. It happens that we have a huge Chinaberry tree in our backyard and I thought it would be fun to borrow his idea and focus on taking a picture a day of the Chinaberry. The one difference was I would only do it from one month not a whole year.
So staring on April 1st 2013 I began my Chinaberry Tree Picture of the Day Project. Originally I had posting these pictures each day in the Mojo Friday diaries. This past weekend I decided I should go back and look up all the pictures and put them together in one diary to share with those who missed them in April.
Enjoy

This is my dad picking up Chinaberries, they grow like weeds if you leave them on the ground. They are also very poisonous, but we've never lost a small child or pet from eating them.

The house was built in 1967, we bought the house in May of 1971 and the tree was already here. I'll post a shot of it down in the comments from that time period for comparison.

If you are interested in doing a similar project but it's been so long since you took photo in high school that you can't remember all the rules and tricks to taking good pictures... Well, I've got a diary series for you. My iPhone Photography Lesson's diaries are here: http://www.dailykos.com/...
It's an ongoing series, I add new lessons when I've got the time to put them together.
