Well, here's your chance to have identify action on climate change as the key priority.
My World. The United Nations Survey For a Better Worldhas identified 16 issues and is encouraging people from around the world to take a few moments and vote to identify top priorities for fashioning a better world.

And there's more!
The UN published in May The Global Conversation Begins
Emerging Views for a New Global Agenda. representing guidelines for the sustainable development agenda designed to move beyond the Millennium Development Goals. The report identified three emerging priorities for the future development agenda, referred to as 'the Post-2015 agenda,' can be identified:
First, the progress on MDGs should be accelerated and adapted to contemporary challenges, such as growing inequalities within countries and the impact of globalization.
Second, the consultations point to the need for a universal agenda to address challenges like environmental degradation, unemployment, and violence.
Third, people want to participate, both in the agenda-setting as well as monitoring the progress in implementation of the Post-2015 framework.
Now, we've been invited - and by that I mean not just the folks here at Daily Kos but citizens around the globe - to participate in the discussion on The World We Want, participating with experts on the various key issues which frame the Post 2015 Agenda to ensure our perspectives and knowledge are part of this vital conversation.
The United Nations is currently assisting 88 countries in convening "national consultations" to work with governments, civil society, media, universities, private sector and think tanks to work together in "open process" forums on key issues.
The selected topics identify the key topics related to a sustainable future and, needless to say, there is definite interdependence among
Here are the 11 topics:
• Inequality
• Health
• Food Security & Nutrition
• Energy
• Governance
• Education
• Conflict & Fragility
• Water
• Growth & Employment
• Environmental Sustainability
• Population Dynamics
Each consultation is designed using the same template.
Interested parties are invited to register to participate in a dialogue to "facilitate an exchange of ideas and collect and document the views, experiences and perspectives of key stakeholders vis-à-vis population dynamics on this forum. It is an opportunity to contribute to the setting of shared global priorities in the context of ameliorating poverty and inequality, whilst championing universal rights and values."
• Background papers are provided. Experts in each field discuss why they believe the particular issue is highly relevant. Links are provided to external sources, upcoming events,
• Registered participants are invited to submit content: blog posts, articles, papers, discussion topics, events.
Let's get involved in this, folks! Hope to be working with you on these consultations. There's been so much work published here at Kos which would is well worth contributing to these discussions.
Manish Joshi, Director of Stakeholder Engagement for Global Campaign for Climate Action (GCCA), is urging civic participate in this survey to ensure addressing climate change emerges as one of the six top issues out of 16 priorities, all developed provides an overview of the process:
The issues extend beyond the Millennium Development goals (which expire in 2015) to include climate change, sustainability, security, governance and transparency and focus on addressing the disparities of opportunity and access which differentiate developed from developing countries and the rich from the poor.
"From now until 2015, people in as many countries as possible have the opportunity to be involved with MY World: citizens of all ages, genders and backgrounds, and particularly the world’s poor and marginalised community," Joshi writes. "The results will be shared with the Secretary General and global leaders as they prepare the next development agenda in the run up to 2015."
"Get the word out - spread this to your networks and memberships. This is your opportunity to push the issue of climate change to the top of the agenda, to ensure that forests and oceans receive the recognition and protection they deserve and that the global community comes together to build a better, safer and more equitable world for all."
I voted. Now it's your turn!
And now for the more labor intensive part. Join me and let's start working with the global community in helping design The World We Want.
