Rachel Maddow had a real good series of reports last night on what's going on in North Carolina and the peoples right to vote, especially in relation to the college campuses that seems to be growing since the new NC law was signed by the Governor.
This is just one of those reports:
Move to block student's candidacy casts long shadow

A long shadow indeed, much longer then just on the college or university campuses throughout the state.
Shutdown or greatly trim back:
The rest of the country, what with the fights for any Sacrifice, nor Demand too, not needed as to our wars of choice with flag wavin patriotism and the results of same for the few ordered into and their families, decade plus now added to the previous decades and wars from, should demand the closing of All the Military Bases in North Carolina and any other state stripping away the Democratic Rights of it's citizens, moving them and their duties from to others states, thus saving the countries citizens multi multi billions in monies spent every year on the ever growing defense budgets in these states!
We put our wars on the credit card, off the budgets for years so deficits don't look like they're rising as rapidly, as well as the decades of care from the results of those wars. Decades long of Underfunding the Peoples Responsibility to fulfill the contract to those that served and defended.
"If military action is worth our troops' blood, it should be worth our treasure, too" "not just in the abstract, but in the form of a specific ante by every American." -Andrew Rosenthal 10 Feb. 2013
Rachel Maddow: "We got a huge round of tax cuts in this country a few weeks before 9/11. Once 9/11 happened and we invaded Afghanistan, we kept the tax cuts anyway. How did we think we were going to pay for that war? Did we think it was free? Then, when we started a second simultaneous war in another country, we gave ourselves a second huge round of tax cuts. After that second war started. The wars, I guess, we thought would be free, don`t worry about it, civilians. Go about your business." 23 May 2013
Without, or greatly trimmed down duties of, the Military bases, NC especially, states couldn't function without the federal money for nor the money spent by those stationed on as well as their families, are no different, in democratic rights terms, as college campuses. Those sent for duty on as their home bases, many who are discharged or retire from make those communities their homes, can thus loose all democratic rights that are being stripped away from the college students and these are rights that those serving protect and defend for all!!
If said states try to exempt the Military bases and personal from these policies then they are showing that what they are doing as to college campuses, and students on for two to four years or more, have no solid ground as to being allowed to stand.
These legislators, federal representatives from as well, and governors run on jobs and economic policies, especially the past couple of elections and with the collapse of the economy, then implement everything but once in total control of the state and local governments with full support and same from those sent to Washington.
Moving the Military bases, and personal, and duties for to states not stripping democratic rights of it's citizens, so called blue, red or whatever color you fancy in these no longer united states, stripping affects more then those targeted in these undemocratic policies, would be a huge economic boon to not only the communities of but from the ripple effect from the construction of or expansion to existing bases to all the state and beyond.
Those states loosing the bases and personal can then do what they run on, seek ways to grow their economies, without federal help and needs, by seeking private business interests and the corporations to fill the huge voids in the communities once dependent on the military and the lands the federal government no longer needs. Thus actually representing all they were hired to. In today's tech world some of the private businesses that support the military bases might or might not stay depending on costs of transport etc., or they may follow the bases to the new locals.
