WYFP is our community's Saturday evening gathering to talk about our problems, empathize with one another, and share advice, pootie pictures, favorite adult beverages, and anything else that we think might help. Everyone and all sorts of troubles are welcome. May we find peace and healing here. Won't you please share the joy of WYFP by recommending?
I really don't get people sometimes, well that's not true I often don't get people. It's been like that since I was little some of it at least then was I was more interested in reading, books and learning then was 'normal' but a big part of it is I just don't think like most people.
Case in point I don't get why people just must pursue grudges and other since nonsense. What drives someone to do so? I mean if you know you don't like someone why keep interacting with them? If topic X is a sore one why keep bringing it up? It's like way too many people like picking at the same wound.
I don't have many close friends but one of them is an actual Republican (I know I know), he's a good friend. Someone I've known since high school. In many ways he's close to a typical libertarian (well in my opinion, I'm sure he would disagree) in that he grew up in the suburbs with upper middle class parents and fairly well off. He's really not a bad sort just has that combination of fear of losing what is 'his' and lack of diversity of experience that to me is all too typical of the more conservative voters. Me and him don't really agree about much of anything on politics but we are still friends. Probably mostly because we know we don't agree on the topic so we mostly avoid it.
I don't know it's just frustrating that people can't agree to disagree more. That people can't just get along better. And no I'm not talking about everyone thinking alike; that's the last thing I would ever want. But there's so much wrong with this world and so much to do why can't we just be more cooperative and less exclusive?
Anyways that's my fucking problem tonight, what's yours?
