What we are witnessing is the slow, miserable death of the GOP.
And it all starts with lies.
The lies they hear on Right Wing media, repeated ad nauseum since Obama's first election, have created a cult of wingnuts who have forsaken reality for the comforts of the FoxNewsiverse and their incestuously amplified safe zone, and out of this mancave of GOP talking points has emerged the Tea Party Frankenstein. That monster is now destroying the GOP brand, an amazing feat considering that the GOP brand has been in tatters since George W Bush took up painting his feet in the bathtub.
But it all starts with lies.
Lieception actually has a definition in the Urban Dictionary.
A lie within a lie (and so on). A person who is experiencing Lieception has made up so many lies that they no longer know what really happened and start to believe their own lies. A reference to the popular American film, "Inception".
http://www.urbandictionary.com/...
Lies about Obamacare. Lies about "socialism", lies upon lies on top of lies. Jon Stewart calls it "Bullsh!t Mountain", and the only thing that trickles down from bullsh!t mountain is second hand stupid.
You see it when you talk to Republicans and they regurgitate a word salad cut from a Bill O'Reilly transcript.
You feel it when the GOP openly sabotages a law designed to save American families from bankruptcy and death.
Bankruptcy and death are big donors to the GOP, after all.
If you are like me you are tired of GOP lies sold on Fox News. So tonight I will be dusting off my old Union Army Kepi to talk with Lizz Winstead, Holland Cooke and Big Ed about how the FoxNewsiverse has lied themselves into a shrinking cult of die hard know-nothings who are incapable of winning the Presidency in their current state, but even though they can't win the White House anymore the GOP is still capable of destroying the American economy on the national and state level. Of course, Fox viewers will never know that because Fox News won't tell them.
Slightly more below the fold . . .
The GOP has decided to double down on the Mitt Romney strategy. Their plan is to lie. Nevermind that Obamacare is a private insurance based plan that originally began as a Heritage Foundation proposal backed by Republicans in the 90s, nope, Fox lied about that, and now Fox is lying about the lies they told about Obamacare. It's a lie inside a lie wrapped in a riddle only Sarah Palin can understand. Fox News is inception for white people who slept through George W. Bush's whole Presidency, and now that Obamacare is about to offer real benefits to millions of Americans the GOP has once again wrapped themselves in their FoxNews security blanket of incestuously amplified bullpucky while donning their Tea Party approved Tin Foil head gear.
Do Republicans have any real answers about how to fix the health care disaster that Obamacare seeks to address? Hell no! That would mean that the Government CAN play an important role in the marketplace, and David Koch ain't paying for that, so instead we get treated to even more lies, we get hostage threats, we get empty Shillibusters and preening Tea Party Presidential wannabees, but ideas, nope, Fox News and the GOP don't need no stinking new ideas, and that is the problem. The Republican parties inability to learn from their own mistakes and the failure of their policy positions is the defining issue in American politics today, and the solution Fox News offers is to continue to bang the dumb slowly.
I just can't wait to hear these meatheads weep when their next gaggle of unelectable dopes head into 2016 complaining about how all the polls are skewed against them.
So, those are my thoughts, peace and love to all, and remember, it IS still a lie even if you really believe it.
Cheers
4:29 PM PT: Big love to everyone, thanks for the support. I think I did great but apologize or the parts where I could have done better. I guess practice makes perfect. The transcript is up on MSNBC's website already for those who missed it. Hopefully Big Ed will invite me back again soon.
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks to everyone. Will be back later to spread some mojo around and reply to comments and stuff.
Cheers
