What is for dinner? How are you doing? What is on your mind. If you are new to Street Prophets please introduce yourself beyond the fold in a comment. This is an Open Thread / Coffee Hour and all topics of conversation are welcome. What are you doing in your home town to support the election of Democrats?
Yesterday our Vallejo Democratic Club had its annual picnic to launch the campaign for our endorsed candidates. Above is a picture taken yesterday. I must apologize for a lack of additional photos because all the photos I took were over exposed in the bright sunlight. The above photo I had to extensively re-process with Photoshop just to make to it viewable.
Here are our candidates:
Jess Malgapo: A long-time Vallejo resident and current city councilmember, Jess Malgapo, if reelected, will continue making public safety his top priority.
Anthony Summers: An 18-year Vallejo resident, local pastor Anthony Summers has the hands-on experience to bring communities together to work for a brighter future for Vallejo.
Pippin Dew: As a local realtor and Chair of the Vallejo Chamber of Commerce, Pippin Dew has the know-how to turn around Vallejo’s economy.
Rozzana Verder-Aliga: With years on the Vallejo School Board and the County Board of Education, Rozzana knows how important public safety and job opportunities are to Vallejo’s youth.
The selection, endorsed by the Solano County Central Democratic Committee, has been a bit problematic for our club. We started out with 6 Democrats applying for endorsement and only the above 4 got it. With the selection a lot of the past divisive issues from past elections have re-surfaced.
I worked for about 5 hours last night on a far more extensive diary about the issues and complexities but I was unable to finish it. So, for today's diary all I can do is introduce our candidates. So, please give me a few days to finish up the diary I'm working on.
