I am going to have a bigger diary on the 2014 Michigan Governor's race soon, but I wanted to get this out now. Gubernatorial candidate Mark Schauer (D. MI) is keeping up the pressure on Governor Rick Snyder (R. MI) to raise the minimum wage in Michigan:
We knew that Governor Snyder wasn’t going to go all in when we laid out our plan to raise the minimum wage. But we never expected this: when we proposed raising the minimum wage, Snyder said that "it wasn’t a significant issue." Then just a few days later Governor Snyder gave his closest advisors huge pay raises, with one getting a 90% raise!
Before Governor Snyder’s State of The State address next week, we’ve set a big goal. We need 10,000 Michiganders to sign our petition and demand that Snyder support Mark's plan to raise the minimum wage to $9.25 an hour.

Governor Snyder might not think it’s a big problem. He might think that the bigger problem is that his political appointees aren’t making enough money. But we need to make sure the governor realizes the problem isn’t his advisors' salaries. It’s the single mom working two jobs to try and make ends meet. Tell Governor Snyder it’s long past time to address this huge problem and support Mark's plan to raise the minimum wage to $9.25 an hour.
Demand that Governor Snyder do the right thing and support raising the minimum wage to $9.25 an hour.
