"Long-term trends in surface temperatures are unusual and 2013 adds to the evidence for ongoing climate change," GISS climatologist [NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies] Gavin Schmidt said, according to AFP. "While one year or one season can be affected by random weather events, this analysis shows the necessity for continued, long-term monitoring."
Last year marked the 37th consecutive year with higher than average global temperatures.

The average temperature last year was 58.3 degrees Fahrenheit, or 14.6 Celsius, according to NASA. The average global temperature has increased about 1.4 degrees F since 1880.

37 years and counting with "with higher than average global temperatures" ... with no sign of a reversal of the trend anytime soon.
That must be some kind of modern record (and not the good kind of record).
But what do NASA Scientists know anyways? They are only the smartest people in their fields, with super computers, and scads of worldwide data, to back them up.
SOOO, in other words, they got nothing over the Industry Marketing forces telling us No Such Trend exists:

NASA Scientists got nothing over the Industry forces of Denial,
except for maybe this:

But it's only "Math" right? And how in the world can "Numbers" hurt us?
Our kids, well sure. But us oldsters, well we'll never really confront that "long-run trend" will we? Afterall, we got more than enough short-run causes, to keep us busy for a life-time. Urgent vs Important calculus, being what it is ... and all.
It's just a matter of "Priorities" ... and "Denial" has nothing/everything to do with it.
What do those NASA Scientists know anyways? ... They got the Math -- BUT do they "got the Cash"?
