You can read all about it on other blogs. What I want to share is that little teeny Muskegon MI, my home town, is doing something wonderful tomorrow -- just hours after the news hit the airwaves.
The Harbor Unitarian Universalist Congregation (yes, leave it to those commie Unitarians) are planning a Groupon. Reverend Bill Freeman and County Clerk Nancy Waters will be on hand to officiate and issue marriage licenses, respectively, to any couple who wants to show up and get hitched.
I'm planning to be there (with bells on) to throw some confetti and toast the happy couples. Hoping to get into a couple of fistfights at the reception.
Good on ya, Muskegon.
UPDATE: 48 couples were married today in Muskegon at the HUUC before the stay was ordered by the appeals court. Whether the ban is upheld or not, folks from all over West Michigan proved that their time has surely come. A great vibe; I was glad to be a part of it.
