Here's what's blooming in our garden right now
So we just had Weedster yesterday (Easter and 420 on the same day). "He is resin," they said. It's a "high rise," some said. Here it was a full day of gardening with weather in the warm upper 70's. We ate outside after doing a little bbq. Right now we have to time it to have it all cooked and eaten before about 6-6:15 PM because the mosquitoes suddenly swarm us about then. And so we did just that.
I'm going to post pics of the things blooming right now in your yard. Some of these pics were taken yesterday and others today. Today we have an overcast sky with rain off and on in the forecast beginning tonight. Several flowering things are happening at unusual times, meaning way too damned early. It is what it is.
Here is what's left of the lilacs. They normally are only hitting their peak about now through early May. This year, they are about 90% done already.
Another plant that bloomed early and is now almost done is our wisteria. It is about 3 weeks ahead of schedule. It got clobbered early in it's blooming by a strong hail storm and so it was about 50% of normal this year. The hail just pummeled it. We've reluctantly decided we will have to remove it this summer because the darn thing is too destructive. It's already tearing apart a stairway and constantly threatens to do the same to the eaves of our home...no matter how much we attempt to train it to do otherwise.
I'll put up a bunch more pics of blooming plants in our yard after the orange KTK doily below. But first, I'd like to give a brief update of
"How the Worm Turns in Paradise." This will be a update of our Paradise Irrigation District. This is typical of how the PID board behaves at their meetings. This is why they seem so inept at times.
Board members took Division 2 Director [person's name] to task last week for calling the District's lawyer in a 10-minute phone call that cost several hundred dollars. The board said phone calls to the lawyer should be reserved for "exigent circumstances" and wanted to know why [the person] didn't get permission from the board before making the call.
"Because I didn't have to!" said [person].
The board took offense to that answer because policy put in place last year requires board member's permission before spending money on legal calls.
This guy does this all the time. He's a dick. He spends money, which costs us rate payers, for whatever he wants. He costs thousands and thousands of dollars every year doing this crap to thumb his nose at the other board members
and the boards' policies. Most meetings are dominated by what this jerk has done. Then the board has other meetings to create new rules to stop this jerk from doing what he does. And he goes ahead and does it anyway. Our leaders at work acting like high school boys.
OK, one more pic, before the jump, of something blooming way ahead of schedule.
Valerian
