It is a beautiful day outside and more and more everywhere you go in the outside world you can't light up a butt.
I think the first time I noticed it was a over a decade or so ago at Barton Springs Pool in Austin. I couldn't believe that they had the nerve to ban smoking OUTSIDE, AT A PARK. I discretely smoked anyway, I tend to be that kind of guy.
Then it was security coming up to us at the sports stadium telling us that we couldn't smoke in our seats anymore and that we would have to go out to the concourse. They didn't care at all about all of the smuggled in bottles that we had sprawled in front of us, just quit smoking. Quit smoking here, you now have to hug the outer ring to smoke.
Fine.
Concerts:
Smoking cigarettes during concerts was basically just a diversion so you could smoke what you really wanted. A smokescreen, if you will.
Attitudes sure can change in a short period of time. I am glad things are the way they are now but I also enjoy those smelly memories, probably because I was a smoker and not a non-smoker having to put up with my stinky butts.
Trying to access the GUS Library gets you this right now:
503 - Service Not Available
So let me say that there are a lot of us have quit, there are a lot of us who want to quit, there are a lot of us who will want to quit and there are a lot of us who enjoy smoking and won't quit.
All are welcome as long as you.....
