Florida Senator Marco Rubio has
said he doesn't believe that mankind's activities are adding to climate change, .
"I don't agree with the notion that some are putting out there, including scientists, that somehow there are actions we can take today that would actually have an impact on what's happening in our climate," Rubio says. "Our climate is always changing. And what they have chosen to do is take a handful of decades of research and say that this is now evidence of a longer-term trend that's directly and almost solely attributable to man-made activity, I do not agree with that."
Seems like Rubio has no idea what he just said.
Only "...a handful of decades of research..."? He needs more than 50 years of research before it's believable?
So, we shouldn't believe that any of Monsanto's 'RoundUp Ready" corn or soy is safe in our food supply? RoundUp's only been around for 40 years(1974). "RoundUp Ready" food crops? Twenty!(soy-1994). Get 'em off the market, now! I guess that goes for any GMO.
How do we know kids conceived with the aid of Viagra don't spontaneously combust at the age of 50? We don't, and won't till 2039. Recall! There are going to be a lot of even angrier members of your GOP base - angry old white men.
Well, Senator, that's not how scientific research works.
If you have a theory about how something works, you devise an experiment to test the theory. If it works, and others can reproduce the experimental results over and over, that's it. Theory's confirmed. Research is over. Time to put it to use! No 50 year waiting period! There's probably nothing else on the planet that as 'a handful of decades of research' behind it. You'd better get your fossil-fuel producing corporate owners to start writing better talking points for you. Otherwise, you just come off as an idiot, talking out of his ass.
Like today!
