Results: Alabama | California | Iowa | Mississippi | Montana | New Jersey | New Mexico | South Dakota
6:20 PM PT (Steve Singiser): NJ-12 (D): This is what a "friends and neighbors" primary looks like: just a small handful of precincts just got dumped in (taking us up to 12 percent total reporting). And Bonnie Coleman dominated the vote enough to now move into a double-digit lead (45-32) over Linda Greenstein. Expect this to happen a few more times tonight.
6:24 PM PT (Steve Singiser): MS-Sen (R): One scenario which many envisioned (and polling seemed to buttress) was the possibility of a runoff between Thad Cochran and Chris McDaniel. But with over 11 percent of precincts reporting, GOP third wheel Thomas Carey is logging in at just 2 percent. Thad Cochran still leads, 53-46. So, while the runoff scenario can't be dismissed entirely, it is looking a bit more remote.
6:27 PM PT (David Nir): NJ-03 (R): The AP calls it for Tom MacArthur, who's beating Steve Lonegan 60-40 with 41% counted. He'll face Democrat Aimee Belgard for this open GOP-held seat.
6:29 PM PT (David Nir): MS-04 (R): With 25% reporting, Rep. Steven Palazzo has taken a slim 49-46 lead over ex-Rep. Gene Taylor (a former Democrat). It's amazing Taylor's doing this well, though.
6:30 PM PT (David Nir): MS-Sen (R): And just like that, Cochran has slipped just below the 50% mark, though with rounding, he has a 50-49 lead on McDaniel with 21% reporting.
6:32 PM PT (David Nir): MS-Sen (R): And now with 24% reporting, they've flip-flopped, with McDaniel on top 50-49!
6:35 PM PT (David Nir): AL-06 (R): In this very red open seat, Paul DeMarco seems to have a comfortable lock on first place with 30% (18% is reporting). But there's a massive pile-up for the second runoff slot, with four candidates bunched between 16% and 18%.
6:38 PM PT (David Nir): NJ-12 (D): With 30% reporting, Bonnie Watson Coleman has jumped out to a huge 54-24 lead on Linda Greenstein, a major change from earlier when Greenstein led. This is the kind of thing you sometimes see on primary night with highly regionalized elections, and this one certainly qualifies.
6:40 PM PT (David Nir): SD-Sen (R): The AP has called the race for ex-Gov. Mike Rounds. He'll face Democrat Rick Weiland, as well as independents Larry Pressler and Gordon Howie in November. This is the seat held by retiring Democratic Sen. Tim Johnson, but Rounds is a heavy favorite to pick it up for the GOP.
6:41 PM PT (David Nir): MS-Sen (R): Pretty nuts: Both candidates are tied at 49, with McDaniel ahead by fewer than 200 votes.
6:42 PM PT (David Nir): MS-04 (R): And with a third reporting, it's 47-47 here! Palazzo's lead is barely 100 votes.
6:45 PM PT (David Nir): NM-Gov (D): Out in New Mexico, Attorney General Gary King has a 33-24 lead on businessman Lawrence Rael, with businessman Alan Webber at 22. Only 12% reporting, though.
6:48 PM PT (David Nir): MS-Sen, -04 (R): Both Cochran and Taylor are now narrowly back up, but both are still in runoff territory. Cochran's at like 49.9 or something ridiculous like that.
6:55 PM PT (David Nir): MS-Sen, -04 (R): Cochran's now squeaked out of runoff territory, 51-48 with 45% reporting. Palazzo's snuck back in front, 47-46, but that's definitely still in runoff land.
6:57 PM PT (David Nir): The liveblog continues here.
