Going to keep this short and sweet.
Starbucks announced they will reimburse full tuition for employees' to finish their last two years of college, NO STRINGS ATTACHED. Specifically, Starbucks will reimburse full tuition for those employees who enroll as a juniors or seniors at Arizona State University's online program, and employees have no obligation to remain working at Starbucks after they graduate. This is on top of employees' healthcare benefits and equity in the company, paid for by Starbucks.
So Starbucks can do all this, but McDonald's won't raise their wages above minimum wage? Hmmm. Yet another debunking of the alleged catastrophe businesses will suffer if the minimum wage is raised.
