He's hep to the kids these days.
Those of you on the DCCC's mailing list are probably well aware of the group's penchant for headlines that proclaim imminent doom. The average subject might be something like "End of world scheduled for next Tuesday" or "Did you know every adorable puppy alive today will be dead and in the ground within 30 years? It makes you wonder what the damn point is."
So it's a bit curious to see Republicans plagiarizing that.
In at least three emails to supporters in the last week, the National Republican Senatorial Committee closely mirrored the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, borrowing phrases, framing, and even the font color on key words. [...]
"The copy and subject matter of the emails is entirely different, but one could certainly make the case that they parody the hyperbolic and sensationalistic language used by the left; or as the kids these days are calling it, 'trolling,'" [NRSC spokesman Brad Dayspring] wrote in an email.
Ah, so it's an homage. Like Rand Paul's homage to various writers he doesn't mention, it's all meant in fun. Well, carry on then. Whatever.
