Even worse: Sunny and Bo, the White House dogs, are photo-op magnets too
So here's the conservative outrage/freakout
du jour: They think that Wednesday evening in Texas he brushed off demands that he tour the southern border by saying "I don't do photo-ops." And whaddya' know, it turns out that he does do photo ops! Sure, that makes him just like every other president, but HE GOT CAUGHT IN A LIE!
Or at least that's what they are saying to themselves—details here. Of course, it turns out that President Obama never said "I don't do photo-ops." What he said was that with respect to solving the humanitarian crisis on the southern border he is "not interested in photo-ops." And sure enough, he's not doing a photo-op on the border. Which makes him—and I know this will break conservatives hearts across the nation—not a liar.
But hey, there's a silver lining here for our right-wing friends. If Obama had gone to the border, it wouldn't just have been a giant waste of his time, it would have distracted him from his other important responsibility, which is being a dictator. (Everyone knows dictators don't need to do photo-ops.) And the more time that Obama spends being a dictator, the better the chances are for House Speaker John Boehner's lawsuit to lead to the president's impeachment ... unless, of course, Obama throws him in a FEMA camp first.
