Michael Brown, the 18 year old killed in Ferguson Mo. on August 9, was shot at least six times — twice in the head — with all of the bullets striking him in the front. One bullet entered the top of his skull which likely indicates that he was bent forward when it struck and killed him. Dr. Michael M. Baden, the former chief medical examiner for the City of New York was flown to Missouri on Sunday to do the autopsy.Brown was also shot four times in the right arm, Dr. Baden said.
The rounds did not appear to have been fired from very close range because no gunshot powder residue was present on his body. However, that determination could change if it turns out that there is gunshot residue on Mr. Brown’s clothing which was not made available to Dr. Baden.
Local medical authorities have completed their autopsy without making the results known to the public. Federal authorities will be conducting their own as well.
