In what is sure to be a sobering (but highly predictable) bit of information, a new study released by Bowling Green University shows just how rare it for police to be arrested for killings on duty. Link to TPM:

Over a period of SIX years, the number of cops arrested for murder or non-negligent homicide was 31 (or roughly 4 per year). Over the same period, the number of justifiable homicides by cops with a firearm was 2,706 (or 385 per year).
If you do the math, that means that roughly 1% of the time a person is killed by a police officer, they are found responsible. 1%. I have nothing further to add.
