Except they cannot
"I call on the inhabitants of Gaza to vacate immediately every site from which Hamas is carrying out terrorist activity. Every one of these places is a target for us," he said in broadcast remarks, a day after an Israeli airstrike flattened a Gaza apartment tower.
As can be seen by the number of dead.
Since the fighting began in July, 2,106 people, most of them civilians, have been killed, according to Palestinian health officials. Since the conflict began in July, 68 Israelis have been killed - including three civilians. A Thai national was also killed in Israel.
It is not as if they have not
tried to flee the violence
UN humanitarian chief Valerie Amos told a UN Security Council hearing the total number of displaced people in Gaza now stands at 440,000.
That includes 240,000 people who have sought refuge in UN shelters.
The total population of Gaza is about 1.8 million so nearly a quarter have already have been displaced. It is not as if they have anywhere to run to either as Gaza itself is tiny.
They also cannot leave Gaza as Hamas can turn them away from the border and both Israel and Egypt have basically sealed the borders for security reasons.
Hamas doesn't have military bases with a "hit us here" sign on the roof, they are integrated into the population. So how can you leave where they are? The only way to leave where Hamas is located is to leave Gaza itself, yet you cannot.
You can try to ask the UN for shelter, but it is no guarantee of safety
A correction later tweeted by an IDF spokesperson, Peter Lerner, read: "After further review, the school the mortar was launched near from is not being used as a shelter by UNRWA but rather a shelter maintained by Hamas authorities in Gaza."
UNRWA has become embroiled in the Israel-Hamas conflict after at least six of its schools being used as shelters were hit by Israeli air strikes or shelling, and Hamas arms caches were found at three disused schools.
Negotiations by both Israel and Hamas have not been carried out in good faith, when you have two intransigent parties both of whom see advantages in continuing the killing; then they will continue to do so. The only way to stop this is that both sides find it highly unprofitable to continue.
Its is up to the rest of the world to stop supplying the means for them to continue. Arms, exports, imports, people and financial transactions in and out of the region should be blocked until this is resolved. A total embargo as it were.
There is only one solution to this that is viable and that is the two state solution and until both sides agree to peace they should be ostracized by the rest of the world.
