According to ABC news, Caroline Kennedy, ambassador to Japan, is courageously speaking out against the dolphin massacre that is taking place.
This seems to be an annual event - luring bottle-nose dolphins into a cove, selling off some to aquariums, and eating the remainder.

My respect for the Ambassador has gone up a thousandfold.
I no longer see her as a privileged political hire, but an individual with the conviction that her father is honored for.
As I understand, the Japanese were surprised by her comments, are respectful of her concern, but will probably not be influenced to stop at this point.
The Japanese are the most intelligent and sensitive people on the planet, and without
a doubt, many are against the slaughter. Let's hope, with Ambassador Kennedy's encouragement, our friends of the sea will soon be able to live their lives in peace.
