What About Bob? Well, Bob Dingethal should know I beat Danny Heck in 2010 by 6% (he sure was one "heck" of a Congressman) and then beat Jon Haugen by 20% in 2012. I think my incumbency status should keep me here just fine and I'm liking it here!
Rep. Jaime Herrera-Beutler may be riding on the success of being elected to two terms in the House of Representatives in Washington's 3rd Congressional District. However, based on the Cook Political Report's PVI of WA-03 being R+2, the district isn't that red (perhaps even more Democratic than Paul Ryan's WI-01 district which has PVI of R+3) so depending on how the 2014 election season fares out, the race in WA-03 may be a competitive one.
In addition, looks like the campaign for Democratic Candidate Bob Dingethal is starting off. On January 26th in Vancouver, WA, Dingethal will be at the Inferno Fitness & Sports for a campaign kick-off event in case any of you are interested in dropping by and connecting with him.
Details on the event are as follows:

Let’s Get Ready to Rumble! I hope you will join me at my campaign kick-off event. I’ll be putting my “hat in the ring” on Sunday January 26th, from 2 PM- 5 PM at inferno Fitness and Sports club at 14010 NE 3rd Ct, Vancouver, WA 98685. I’ve been an avid boxer my entire adult life, so I thought it would be appropriate for our first major campaign event to take place at my local boxing gym. We need to send someone to Congress who is ready to fight for all of the people of Southwest Washington and work to ensure that all people are represented. The event is open to the public. Contributions are encouraged but not required. Our friends and Bubba Blues BBQ will be catering the event. Please RSVP to nick@bobdingethal.com or by phone at 360-823-6300 or at facebook.com/bobforcongress.
Here's Bob Dingethal's motivation for entering the WA-03 Congressional Race:

Ridgefield Democrat Bob Dingethal, a former aide to U.S. Sen Maria Cantwell, announced Monday that will seeking Herrera Beutler’s seat representing the Third District.
Calling Congress “dysfunctional,” Dingethal, 57, said in a written statement he plans to focus on economic development to bring good-paying, high-tech jobs to Southwest Washington.
A retired telecommunications industry executive, Dingethal is now the executive director of the Gifford Pinchot Task Force, a nonprofit conservation group.
“I think my 35 years of experience in business, non-profit and public policy gives me a unique insight into solving problems that our current representation does not have,” Dingethal said in a written statement.
In also announcing his candidacy for Congress, Dingethal seems to be a pretty open and transparent person who genuinely wants WA-03 residents' voices heard.

“I’m looking forward to meeting thousands of people face to face across the district in the coming months. I want to hear their concerns and ideas. We need to open the conversation to everyone. There are currently a lot of people who feel their voices are not being heard over the power of special interests in D.C.” said Dingethal. He added that if elected he would immediately re-open public town hall meetings throughout the district. “People have a right to voice their opinions even if they are angry with the state of politics in America. I won’t always agree with everyone, but I pledge to always listen, try to find answers, and work together with all of the people of the 3rd District” said Dingethal.
In addition, Dingethal is also very active in the communities in WA-03 in general:

He has also served as chair of the Vancouver-Clark County Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee and on the board of the Clark County Historical Society and Museum. He lives in Ridgefield with his wife Dona and his two grown sons, Max and Sam.
