Yes, I'm a man and I'm going to talk about "womens' libidos." I am not someone who likes to claim that there is a Republican "war on women" because I feel that it will simply "take care of itself" at the polls. However, his latest statement demonstrates a great deal of what is wrong with such people, and so I'd like to address the more general issues involved. However, my impression so far can be summed up with this analogy: one gang (the Republicans) keep goading another gang (the Democrats) into a fight. The first gang brings guns, while the second brings knives. However, the first gang complains when the second decides to fight back at some point! Of course, much of this may be due to how Mike and/or the people who run his show think they can generate enough ratings to justify their existence on FoxNews, but I don't think anyone would doubt that there are many people who really believe these things.

First of all, barring in vitro fertilization, which Mike probably would like to rant against as well, one must assume that it takes a man with a libido for a pregnancy to happen. Why isn't Mike concerned about men's libidos? This brings me to the second point, which is that Mike seems to have confused "the pill" with "the day after pill." Otherwise, there is no "self control" issue because the way "the pill" works is that you have to take it every day even if there is only one day of intercourse in many weeks' time! Should anyone of sound mind take a person seriously when he seems so ignorant about the issue to which he is speaking?
Next, I think this is just one aspect of their "bubbleitis" disease, that is, they seem to only talk to each other about these things, and apparently a "game of telephone" seems to result, which would explain how they could generate notions such as "legitimate rape." Mike thinks women ("the women he knows") agree with him, and that may indeed be true! When I was a child and there was news of a child doing something very wrong, my parents would sometimes say that he "got involved with a bad crowd." Because over the last thirty or so years the "grown up" Republicans have refused to consider the consequences of the policies their radical members advocated, the bubble formed, and now has grown to such a degree that in many ways Mike is one of the "grown ups" in this structure!
That is, he doesn't advocate (yet) policies such as the death sentence for women who have abortions. However, he doesn't seem willing to provide us with details about what the US would be like if he could make all the laws. This is where I find such people to be disingenuous, and without the "courage of his convictions," what else remains (unless you are a Tea Party type, of course)? For me, the answer is pure misogyny, though Mike may have deluded himself into thinking that he really is "standing up for women." I doubt he will ever see through the delusion, and as others have said (more or less), sometimes you have to wait for a generation of idiots to die off before sanity can prevail. Let's hope people like him don't do too much damage in the meantime!
I wish there was a show called "Undercover Right Wing American," which featured Republicans "going undercover" to see how people outside their bubble lived and viewed the world. On the other hand, we've seen glimpses of what that might be like. For example, a female delegate being told how many pregnancies due to rape there are each year in the US. She seemed to be surprised that the number wasn't three or four! And even if that were the case, why would you punish those few women? The misogyny we are witnessing seems to be based on a notion that women are somehow "out of control," largely due to policies that are "too liberal," but the people I mostly see acting this way are men. Too bad there isn't a pill to prevent things like domestic violence !
